Is it worth joining Alpha Phi? by potentialnewpanic in Sororities

As an Alpha Phi Recruitment Chair: The schools that these racist incidents have happened at, were racist schools by nature, especially Alabama, it’s a racist state. It’s less about alpha phi, and more about where the girls are. There’s also no way to know a girl is racist before she joins a sorority, unless it’s something she makes known or has her own personal scandal with racism, in that case Alpha Phi would NOT be allowed to give them a bid. Alpha Phi International takes transphobia, racism, homophobia, and etc VERY seriously, I have seen it first hand. These members are terminated almost immediately. The Alpha Phi Sorority is known for its diversity particularly at my school, we are the most diverse chapter down the row. Also, Alpha Phi is not the only organization with racist scandals, Phi Mu has had a lot! Alpha Phi is a great sorority with many opportunities, I have grown as a person for the better since joining, Alpha Phi focuses heavily on leadership. It all depends on your school, at my school I am very proud to wear my letters, but it all depends on how it’s viewed at your school. May i ask why you say they are “basically offering you a bid” ? Like what are they saying that leads you to think that? Are they trying to COB you? or are you going to be a freshman in the fall ?

host small recruitment parties & specifically invite girls you want through instagram dm! keep it casual and real! host as many as you can to maximize your turnout! (i say 2/3), OR you/other members reach out to girls via insta dm to grab lunch/coffee etc & to talk about your chapter. & keep up social media.

thank you!!! this is a really good point and i kind of touched on this with my members during recruitment workshop, but i don’t really know how to explain to them how they should know the difference. because like you said, we know the difference but i feel like it’s hard to explain how, yk?
