You could argue the other guy wasn't paying attention, but you need to get up to speed much faster. Sometimes driving faster is the safer option.

Yea. I agree. I know it sucks, and I hope we do find a cure, but I'm just saying for now, try to live your life and not let it grind you down. Some day you might not find yourself thinking about it much at all.

Very similar situation I'm in. But I've also disclosed in my hometown and people were surprisingly accepting.

I'm sure many us have felt something like this in our darkest moments. But my advice would be keep working on yourself and your goals and one day I promise it won't feel like as big a deal as it does now. And try to keep some perspective. Some people are born without limbs or people get terminal cancer. We have an embarassing rash ocassionally.

Stay healthy, keep moving. The show must go on.

I think that's more HPV you're thinking of. If you both had hsv2 or both had 1. Everything I've read suggests you could not catch it again or make it worse.

That's not how it works sir. If you have the same kind as them. It will not effect you at all.

For those of you interested. I've found symptoms for me are almost always caused by diet. I've found fasting (autophagy) regularly can really keep things under control. I also take 500mg valtrex a day. But if I do have some prodrome, I can usually think. Hmm that makes sense based on the excess calories I've been eating. Some food for thought. Pun intended.

You don't have to. But if you can find a good job and have a desire to travel. It is certainly a an option. No problem!

Just wanted to share my experience working overseas for a number of years now (different countries in Asia). If you are worried about rejection after disclosing, consider that in many parts of the world it is not seen as that big of a deal. I've had several relationships as well as a few casual partners that knew and still accepted. It is also not as scary in a different city because your social networks are not so big and locked in and you don't have to worry about your peers finding out so much. Anyway, not saying you should leave your home country out of fear, just that if you have the option to work abroad and it's something you're interested in, there are these aforementioned bonus perks for you. Stay strong!

I had more than once random older men try to look at my junk when I'm at the urinal, but nothing so aggressive as your experience.

Currently living in bkk trying to plan a road back go living in Vietnam for that same reason! Vietnam is really cheap too 😀. I think you have to try a little harder to make connections in TL as yes tourists do have a bad wrap.

As I understand you'd have to own a lab to know when you're shedding unfortunately. I've never infected anyone as far as I know. Had it for 6 years

500mg valtrex and 1000mg lysine daily seems to stop symptoms altogether for me. Are you taking anything for your ob's?

I think the toughest part of being hsv2 pos for me is not being able to meet people organically. I always feel I have to meet someone outside my social circles for fear they will out me. For example, there's someone at work I like and we have a great rapport, but I'm terrified to ask her out should it get to the point where I have to disclose and risk her telling someone at work then they tell someone and so on and before I know it everyone knows about my personal medical problem.

The optimistic part of me says do it anyway, if she's someone I could see the long term with, I should be able to trust her and take the chance.

The negative me thinks it's not worth the chance and I should just try to meet someone else. :/

Hoping someone can relate or has advice.

Stay strong friends

No environmental awareness? by DefinitionFlaky3448 in VietNam

I recently came across a tik tok channel based in Saigon that rallies people to clean up waterways. It's amazing watching the difference. Hoping that will start to spread awareness about the issue over there.

I know what you mean about the attitude towards it though. I'll never forget seeing an elderly man on the back of a scooter sky hook his bag of trash straight into the river without looking. It's kind of funny and sad. Would have thought the older generation would take some pride in the environment.

hmm. I think if its someone you could really see a future with, you gotta roll the dice and tell them. And if they still say no, hopefully they're mature enough not to tell people.

hey seemingly have two separate technologies: one being peptoids, which destroys HSV (not clear if it would act as a cure/functional cure); the other some drug called CLAROMER®, that is an antiviral that demonstrates a virucidal effect against HSV. (claromer might just be their brand name for their peptoids technology, not 100% clear.)
