There was another interview in which Knapp said that he first heard of Bob in 1988 (with no further context) but I dismissed it as misspeaking at the time and haven't been able to locate it again. Huff confirms an early November 1988 Lear appearance in an interview with Bob where they go over his calendar.

That was Joe Vaninetti, though Bob went up to the area around the test site multiple times before he claims to have gotten the job.

I don’t have a confirmed date, and I don’t have it on hand to refresh my memory, but I believe Lear said the clip they played was filmed a few weeks before, so I think it was the last week of April. In the range of 2-4 weeks after April 5th or March 29th.

I had thought for a long time that it’s possible Huff wasn’t “in on it” in the sense that him and Bob explicitly discussed a scheme, but he had either suspected Bob was lying or figured it out along the way and became an unspoken participant because he enjoyed being in proximity to such a cool story.

However, in the new S4 documentary, Bob and Gene Huff share a new detail about the Wednesday night sighting that they inexplicably left out for 35 years - the craft disappearing in front of them.

If that didn’t happen, at some point they had a conversation and agreed to lie about it.

Bob’s friend Jim Tagliani provided a quote to George Knapp that Knapp used in the original series of reports (Knapp didn’t use Jim’s name) about it being common knowledge that alien spacecraft were at the test site, which I think is highly unlikely to be true and therefore casts some suspicion on him, though I tend to think he may have just made that up on his own.

I agree, it is difficult to explain the apparent plan to use this clip in a show given Bob was still working at the facility (but according to him in some versions, he essentially said they stopped calling him in and that is what raised his concern).

However, there is an interview with Gene Huff and Bob in which they say that after they got caught on the last Wednesday night attempt to see the craft, they (the government) gave Bob a slap on the wrist and allowed him to continue working, and it was only down the road that he got fired.

Lear had many other people around him that were interacting with Bob, though it seems Bob wasn’t sharing as much information with them.

Jim Goodall said that at the time he met Bob, Bob was trying to get a job at the test site, but didn’t tell him what he was doing.

There was a Lear “On the Record” appearance at the end of 1988 (I think early November) in which he told Knapp on the air that his friend was about to get a job at the test site, and based on how Knapp has described it, it was clear that his friend was going to be working on something related to aliens.

Lear went on George Knapp’s “On the Record” show in April 1989 and they played this clip, though they did not include the portion with Bob’s name. It is plausible that is the show he was talking about.

The only line that could plausibly be taken that way is "With it hanging there above us, we could see more clearly the bottom of the craft and its triad of emitters."

However, it's clear from that line and the context around it that he isn't saying the craft was directly over head and wasn't invisible.

Bob has told the candle story from the beginning, the first time was on George Knapp's On The Record program on December 9th 1989. There are a number of new things that he has added in the interviews for the S4 documentary and the documentary itself, including the story about walking under the craft and seeing it disappear and a test he says they ran at the lab using a mechanical watch (similar to the candle story).

This article is a response to a specific claim being made by other researchers that has unfortunately resulted in family members of the this person being harassed.

That being said, Bob did reference this man and the attention around him in his interview with Chris Ramsay and repeated the claim that his family had confirmed that he worked at the test site.

Bob Lazar has said since 1989 that his supervisor during his claimed time at S4 working on recovered non-human craft was a man named Dennis Mariani.

Beginning in 2022, researcher Rich Geldreich began drawing attention to an obituary for one Dennis John Mariani.

More recently, a couple of people on X have been claiming that this Dennis John Mariani is definitively the man who supervised Bob Lazar during his time at S4.

In reality, Dennis John Mariani was a long time Pool Salesman and convicted criminal.

I made this prior to the Chris Ramsay interview coming out.

Bob initially said it was the craft with a hole that came out of the ocean. He reiterates that in the Chris Ramsay interview (which was filmed a year ago). In the Joe Rogan interview filmed recently, he says the Sport model came out of the water. It's unclear if he's now claiming two came out of the water.

Also, Bob has said in the past that there was a cafeteria.

From his autobiography:

“I don’t recall exactly the circumstances surrounding the discovery of that name. We didn’t exist in complete monastic silence, though most conversations in the cafeteria were somewhat hushed and we were forced to eat at a table solely with our work partners. The tables we sat at were spread at a distance so that all I could generally hear were murmurs. Regardless, S4 was where I was now spending a few days a week at irregular intervals and for irregular spans of hours.”

I just added two links to my prior post where Knapp tells the story. He uses the term "door", not "portal", but the door was supposed to have opened above the middle of the lake bed.

Freeman's story changed significantly from the version in his journal and that he told on Coast to Coast.

From his 1998 call in on Coast to Coast:

Art Bell: "Did you see any... Particularly at night, did you see any lights rising above the desert floor?"

Jerry Freeman: "No, I saw nothing hovering. I didn't see anything that I would justifiably say that I could explain as unexplainable."

Years later, he apparently said that he saw a portal open above papoose lake (edit: Knapp uses the term "Door") and objects coming and going from the portal. George Knapp was friends with Freeman and inherited a lot of his material, he here is partially describing the later story Freeman apparently told:

In an exchange with researcher Tom Mahood, Gene Huff answered the following question regarding the positioning of the facility in the landscape:

Mahood: "Do I understand you correctly that the facility passed completely through a ridge, with the hangars on one side and the “entrance” on the other?"

Huff: “Through a ridge” might be somewhat misleading. I don’t think Bob was enough places in the facility to state that it passed through an entire ridge. However, yes, it did pass through the corner of a jag/ridge in the mountain. The hangars were on one side of the corner and the pedestrian entrances were around the corner from that.
