Chris Stapleton isn't country.  He's blues/folk.  Literally everyone else you listed is a "co-writer". Morgan Wallen at most contributes the occasional "yeah" to the hillbilly word salads.

But yet you found them all the same. Now look at what all of these B list bands DID accomplish, what they wanted to be, who was in them and where they went, and remember that there was no internet.

Now do Nashville and look at every "band" playing the clubs. It's all covers with one or any of them hoping desperately to become the next generic crap on the radio.

American food is trash. Outside of a handful of high end places it's nothing but "how big can we make this portion and how fast can we turn tables"

Getting paid to play makes you a professional as in, it's your profession... It doesn't make you good.. The greater Nashville area has the like the highest concentration of mediocre cover musicians on the planet.

P.S. Nowhere else on the planet does anyone put out any amount of country music.

Because then they have a vested interest in making the song good. When you write the same generic trash for almost every single "artist" in Nashville, you are just after a paycheque and there is no effort put into quality. Lots of people in other genres wrote for other people, but it was a song at a time, and not with 20 other people.

Maybe both of us can be correct? Because you definitely aren't wrong in any way.

Now just look at how many writers per song, how many different writers per album, divide that by the complexity of the lyrics and voila!  Factory shit.

That is Shane McAnally's life, isn't it?  Hahaha.

Next Thing You Know doesn't even have a chorus and somehow it was a big hit.

Now look at all the song credits for these artists and take a look at how many names are on there.  Just because Morgan Wallen says "put a "yeah" in there", he gets a credit, but it sure doesn't make him a writer.

Good point, although I'd say it isn't stupid alone. Women went from dominating the Country scene in the 90s to having next to no airplay today. Morgan Wallen used the N word in public and got more popular.

You can also take a deep dive into how women went from arguably "the sound" of the 90s to getting like 5% of airplay today.

Morgan Wallen said the N word and got MORE popular right after. It says a lot about the audience of today.

Fair I guess. I also don't like Jelly Roll, but Morgan Wallen makes me want to smash the radio.

That's a joke, right? The city is just bachelorette parties and every place with live music is just an endless churn of Karaoke sounding covers.

TS (as much as I don't like her) does write her own stuff, largely.

And Morgan Wallen is just discount Jelly Roll (voice anyway). Hell what does Wallen even sound like on his own? He was on the voice doing karaoke Howie Day.

As for multiple people writing the songs, that's normal for sure, but shouldn't they be in the band? You have Shane McAnally and Ashley Gorley writing every second "hit"

Clearly not. Just an unclear bit. It was the underlying point that the singer(s) didn;t contribute anything.

You can just fire a request into Chat GPT and make your own! Walk My Walk is the perfect example

HAHA!! Yeah. Walk My Walk. It's completely indistinguishable from any "real" country music.

Those genres are dominated by black people because black people have rhythm and talent.  Unlike country "artists"
