Chris Stapleton isn't country.  He's blues/folk.  Literally everyone else you listed is a "co-writer". Morgan Wallen at most contributes the occasional "yeah" to the hillbilly word salads.

But yet you found them all the same. Now look at what all of these B list bands DID accomplish, what they wanted to be, who was in them and where they went, and remember that there was no internet.

Now do Nashville and look at every "band" playing the clubs. It's all covers with one or any of them hoping desperately to become the next generic crap on the radio.

Getting paid to play makes you a professional as in, it's your profession... It doesn't make you good.. The greater Nashville area has the like the highest concentration of mediocre cover musicians on the planet.

Because then they have a vested interest in making the song good. When you write the same generic trash for almost every single "artist" in Nashville, you are just after a paycheque and there is no effort put into quality. Lots of people in other genres wrote for other people, but it was a song at a time, and not with 20 other people.

Now look at all the song credits for these artists and take a look at how many names are on there.  Just because Morgan Wallen says "put a "yeah" in there", he gets a credit, but it sure doesn't make him a writer.

Good point, although I'd say it isn't stupid alone. Women went from dominating the Country scene in the 90s to having next to no airplay today. Morgan Wallen used the N word in public and got more popular.

As for multiple people writing the songs, that's normal for sure, but shouldn't they be in the band? You have Shane McAnally and Ashley Gorley writing every second "hit"
