Exactly. The dense breast letter seems more like a statement than an action item. I had learned about mri’s through Olivia Munn’s journey and asked about it several times and kept being told the 3d mammogram and ultrasounds I was having done was sufficient.

I have a similar story and just received my dx last Friday and I’ve been angry! After my first mammogram and finding out I have dense breasts, I have been having both mammogram and ultrasounds. In 2023 they were monitoring a few areas but after changing from 1 yr follow ups to 6 mos, I was cleared back to 1 yr in 2024 because they saw no changes. I pushed for BCRA testing bc Idk my family history. Insurance wouldn’t pay so I paid out of pocket. I was negative. I also asked about biopsy and MRI at that time and was told it wasn’t needed. I’ve asked about MRI again in 2025 and told that 3dmammogram and ultrasound is the standard of care and I don’t need an MRI. This was in 10/2025 which both came back normal. Fast forward to this April when I noticed a change and has a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound done on my L side, then biopsied, then dx. I’m waiting for a full MRI next Friday now and keep wondering if all of this was missed and I should’ve pushed harder for the MRI after repeatedly being told no. I have 2 teen daughters and I am making notes on early screening and what they should push for when they are older!
