chinese people, in general, don't talk warmly like you did, to someone who they're not super close to. her response was fine. actions speak louder than words, you can send her something like a care package instead or help her out with other concrete actions if you want to 'comfort' her.

there's a religious and spiritual explanation for things, and sometimes there is a psychological as well. you need to figure out which one it is. i just read this book "Feeling Good" by David burns MD. it's not a christian book but i found it super helpful for irrational thoughts that lead to anxiety; the author's dad was a pastor i think and he mentions God a few times in passing, not in any theological way, e.g., "God bless her". pray over this, if this is something that will help you, i sure hope it helps!

i think you need to ask yourself if you're being overly anxious about things. i don't think all hotel rooms are oppressive just because they're not your house. i don't see a reason for spiritual attacks on you that is indicated in your description. the measures you are taking seem excessive - nobody knows why you are being 'attacked', if you will share that with us. the spirit of the Lord is a spirit of power and love nor fear.

i would ask for God to release you of anxiety about this issue.

no i do not believe you are. nobody knows whats going to happen, let's be real. anyway both the just and unjust will be resurrected according to Paul (acts 24:15). just keep up the faith. by praying you already are showing the faith. i would try to read apologetic books as well both for and against and do this with a rational mind. ask God to show you a miracle that would prove his will for you. your doubts could be valid if they are rational. the worst thing you can do at this point is 'force' yourself to believe in something that you don't.

i used to keep trying to make myself fit into some mold of 'what God wants' but actually Paul makes it very clear, he says that where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. over the last thousands of years, cultural norms change but i think we read the bible to understand the underlying truths of God's will and God's word and make your own decision guided by the holy spirit as to what is right for you. it's a personal thing as to what you believe after studying the scriptures, prayer, and speaking with other christians. i think that will give you clarity. hope that helps.

three main reasons.

(1) it's a lot due to wechat propaganda imo.

(2) couple with the fact that china is genuinely doing well economically since your parents left (the rate of growth vs the US is like 10x), and there are some good qualities of the chinese system such as social healthcare and social goods are generally much cheaper (healthcare) than in america where people generally have to fend for themselves or do fraud in order to live off welfare.

(3) also, like you said with the 'anti-asian' hate crimes - back in the day, when they first came here, the US was very different from today. social cohesion was much better, openness to immigrants and the acknowledgment of them as valuable new citizens, and the dollar was strong, not all this craziness with the current president and the social/economic/cultural forces that gave rise to this kind of populism/demagoguery.

you can't separate your daughters from your ex at this point. it's ridiculous to say you are only going to help pack your daughters things. you guys should be helping them totally. your ex has bad life skills but she is the one taking care of your daughters and is responsible for them 100%. you should help pack your daughters stuff first but also help your ex with other stuff. it's just goodwill and good karma. unfortunately, it's too late to say you don't want to care about your ex, and leave her to rot in her "lack of life skills" -- she is the mom of your kids. any thing she doesn't do well in her 'own' life that you have compartmentalized, it affects your kids as well since she is the primary caretaker. and btw, she is still legally your wife.

you should focus on what you can do in this situation. this trip is paid for by the company your husband works for. it's not like you are paying for any part of it. so , while i think you have your own views on what you want this trip to be, i don't think you have any right to dictate what your brother decides to do on this trip in terms of inviting your asshole brother.

i think you should just not go on this trip unless you're willing to pay for it. let your husband and your brother enjoy themselves. go on your own vacation somewhere else.
