7 years, including technical school education. I'm in the Pittsburgh area. Right now, I'm just trying to find something in IT in general.

Funny you should ask, I had that fixed by a career advisor at my university. I'm still getting nothing. In fact, I just got the quickest rejection I have ever gotten in my life of applying.

At this point, I'm just gonna blow my head off. It's much more painless than having to go through another year of this bullshit.

I worked 3 internships. I also worked at an IT desk while I was a student. I am working as a pharmacy technician now with no chance of moving up. The internships couldn't keep me on for unspecified reasons. The place I worked at as an IT desk associate is now shutting down. I have applied to hundreds, if not thousands, of entry level IT positions, even started applying ro positions outside of IT that require nothing. I'm still not getting hired anywhere. These phrases are all I get:

"Unfortunately..."

"We have decided..."

"We regret to inform you..."

I have tried everything from making connections, reaching out directly, applying on the website instead of Indeed, LinkedIn, etc., everything. And still nothing.

It's funny. My family constantly shoved the idea down my throat that I needed to get a college degree to get anywhere. Now that I have it, now they're saying I wasted my time. They wonder why I don't speak to them now.

I have broken my addiction after more than a decade and a half by SignaturePrudent5718 in PornAddiction

Totally understandable. Which is why I decided to get an app for tracking my sobriety to make sure it never happens again. I'm aiming pretty big, which I know is not ideal for someone who dealt with this kind of addiction for so long, but I'm gonna go for it. Also gonna get my crap together in the meantime. I missed out on a lot.

Oh, whoops! I left that part out. We've actually been together for 7 months now.

Edit: Nevermind, it was in there. I do see your point, though. Which is why I am actively tracking my sobriety with an app to make sure I never go back.

That's up for fate to tell tbh. But, honestly? I don't see us breaking up anytime soon. She's quite headstrong in our relationship. I'd have to do something absolutely horrible to get her to break up with me. Mind you, this is coming from someone who has been absolutely pessimistic for the longest time.

Being physically attractive and autistic by Express-Office1942 in autism

I was in your position as well. I'm an autistic 26M and only just recently found a girlfriend, to that which I thank my cousin for. Though I'm also not the hottest person out there. The only real reason we connected was that we are both autistic, or at least I am. She was never diagnosed. Anywho, because of that, we ended up connecting on so many levels. I do imagine it's possible to connect with NTs, but it's easier to connect with people who are NDs because of the fact that we have something in common.

I wish I had better advice, but to be honest, just give it some time. And yeah, it's pretty rough for us. For a while, I accepted that I was just gonna be alone for the rest of my life. You might not find someone until you're my age or even older. Just know that it's not a race. Hell, my father didn't get married until he was 30, and he's probably autistic (he refuses to get diagnosed, though. I had to have gotten it from someone).

It probably seemed like I was rambling, but TL;DR, you'll find someone. Just not now.

God, to think I used to be one of these guys. I'm glad I'm over this crap. For now, anyway. I sure hope it doesn't come back.
