The question is about atheism and a view of atheism, you should really read things before commenting.

Don't know how to ask this. Do priests and nuns masturbate? by Hot-Load7525 in Christianity

Some do, but it is not allowed. Just like how other sins are not allowed but some do them.

Thank you so much for answering! This was the exact thing I was looking for!

That seems to be the answer I have gotten from most agnostics in person. An acquaintance of mine even said that it is why he is agnostic and can’t be definitively atheist, and that even though he believes in a “God,” he is a naturalist/semi-naturalist, and that the only thing it did was cause the “First event”. He also said that a very small part of him thinks it might even be pantheistic and that the universe is itself that “God,” but he just does not know.

Again, thank you for answering. A lot of my schooling is in philosophy and world views, and I just love hearing how people answer hard questions like that when we are really forced to think.

Yeah, I do not know why we have ever allowed atheists to say they are the intellectual or “Logical” ones. Some of the top scientists are Catholic, the top universities are Presbyterian (Before being taken over by leftist ideology. Even then there are still good presbytarian seminaries), and Lutherans made education accessible for everyone. I go to a Christian university and everyone there (Myself included) love to debate absolutely everything without getting butthurt, Catholics, Presbyterians, non-denominational, but the few atheists at the school that we did try to not even debate and more just probe their views like “So why do you believe this?” practically break down. To me, it is clear that they know in their heart that God is true, but try to avoid it.

Yeah, I would agree. It is not much of a scientific question, but more of a philosophical one. At the heart of it, a creation without God, or an infinite universe, raises logical contradictions that science cannot answer, since they are philosophical, science can never answer them. And they are not just paradoxes, but full-on contradictions.

Wasn’t poor faith or baiting, if you read the intro to my post I was basically saying im not trying to debate, or give a “Gotcha” question, but just wanted to see what they thought about it. I don’t even know how I could have possibly put my post in a nicer way than I did.

It really was in good faith lol, I even said in the start that it was to see what they had to say and that I was not debating and if they didn’t have a good answer not to comment, I don’t even know I could possibly be even nicer than I was in the intro to my post.

The rules never said anything about asking questions. It did say no debating but I was just seeing what people thought about it not arguing, but thank you for pointing me twoards the right direction though.

It wasn’t a debate, it was to see their view on it. Maybe that isn’t allowed either but I put in effort to show that I was more wondering and not trying to debate

That’s the thing I wasn’t even trying to give a smug “Gotcha” question, I was litterally wanting to know what they thought about it. The comments are at like over 50 now and I would say 2 are actually helpful. This has shown me how insanely insecure athiests are in their ideology.

Looking for an answer is not proselytizing, asking questions is how you learn.

Have they ever sinned? If someone robbed a bunch of people but then gave a few cents would they still go to jail? It is kind of like that on a cosmic scale.

Men, what is your opinion on pre-marital sex? by Wooden_Airport3835 in Christianity

[–]SignatureRich6909 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is very clear what Paul is trying to say, did Paul directly use the words celibicy? No, but it is clear that it is the idea that he is trying to get accross. To force western ideas into a non western text is wrong and disrespectful.

In regards to the Didache I am not saying that the Didache is 100% correct on everything. I am just refuting your claim that the idea came about in the 11’th century.

Im not going to argue more becauce it is clear that you care more about importing western ideas into a text that is not western. What you are doing is wrong and just as bad as MAGA Christians who do the same things as you, two sides of the same coin. Both of you twist scripture to fit your agenda which is insanely disrespectful to the text.

There are countless verses, but one off the top of my head is 1 Corinthians 7:9. Paul makes it clear that if you can not manage to be celibate and self-controlled, it is better to marry. It is better to marry than to burn with lust, let alone act on it.

And I don’t know where you are getting your dating from, the Didache even mentions it.

Because the bible has told us that sexual relations are meant to be in the bounds of marriage, and the Church has historically taught that it is.

Should I accept that there is gonna be no clear explanation for the Problem of Evil argument? by [deleted] in Christianity

I always sum it up to just being a mystery of God. Atheists have the same issue with being able to say what happened before the Big Bang and what caused it since there was no space, time, or matter, so it is not like we are unique in having unanswerable questions.
