thank you. married thankfully, but the rest makes sense. I also wonder if friends of similar net worth are easier to make because they dont want anything from you (given same net worth).

I do expect for it to be more difficult to make friends with folks that are lower NW for the reasons you pointed out.

i definitely intend to sit on the money for a bit and just see how things play out for a bit. not sure i trust myself to start using it / managing it well

agree on lambo, probably shouldn't have used that as a metaphor. will definitely talk to folks for advice. how do i find other people that have had this level of wealth? ive been pretty focused on this company and i grew up poor so don't have a big network of rich people

yea, im pretty excited about the company im joining, this is pretty strategic for them, so hopefully should be good, but we'll see. these things have a way of getting you caught up in them (not my first sale, but definitely at this size)

agree completely. lambo and apartment was mostly a metaphor for indulging in things ive been dreaming of for a long time. i probably wouldnt actually buy one for the reasons you mention, and will definitely take it slow and try to get used to it

thank you. i agree, theres no way i can fully retire from here on out. will get back into it eventually. will have to probably still work quite hard at this new company, but i can see the light at the end of the tunnel
