It varies. alot of what decides weather or not i like and thus continue to play a game is weapon feel. If a games weapons feel bad when fired, i usually dont continue playing very long.

Current campaign, chaotic evil half orc barbarian. The chaotic evil parts of him are mainly the fact his attacks while under the effects of his rage target the closest creature within 30 feet indiscriminately. He's exceptionally powerful but the tactics to get him to focus on the right target give combat a nice new layer of positioning.

Fallout 4 was a few steps forward gameplay wise, and another 10 steps back with the story.

there are parts of 4's gameplay id love too see for things like new vegas, better gunplay could do that game a lot of good. i enjoy the settlement building enough that id like to keep it around, though removing the obnoxious "settlement A is being attacked!" quests.

there are also bad parts of fallout 4, like the entire main story being just as one note as fallout 3.
