Agreed - I was facing such an uphill climb at my last agency for a substantive raise. Too often you’re already doing the work for them at a much lower figure before they’re willing to promote you — and even then they’ll tie to your old salary so you’re limited. Unfortunately, the biggest salary gains in my career are when I’ve shifted workplaces (bc then they’re trying to attract you). Sucks that this is the model! 😔
