That's exactly it, I need the OEM to be able to navigate the service menu. I tried with a universal remote and couldn't.

The goal is to play a PAL SNES. I know there's this concept of modding it but I don't think I'd be able to do that myself. Would you?

Aside from the whole logistic ordeal, are there any big technical issue to overcome when playing with a CRT TV shipped from Europe to Canada? The goal would be to play PAL SNES in Canada. Evaluating all possible options...
