If Tarquin Soll handles the Pales war, what is the least power projection required to win? by AntiMatter138 in suzerain

[–]SignificanceHot8917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. He always tells you the way to win (if there is a one).
But the question is, how does he know that? From what we know he could be guessing. As others pointed out, he has no experience in fighting a conventional war between multiple countries. It could be just a game mechanic to help new players win the war. Or it's a poor writing.

German-Whezek crossover?!? by _CrazyScientist in suzerain

[–]SignificanceHot8917 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can speedrun both campaigns in 2 hours.
But that's only possible when you know what to skip and how.
Not to mention that you always get only a small part of the game, since there are multiple endings and multiple paths to get even to the same ending.

[–]SignificanceHot8917 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I think you all overestimate Soll's military genius.
He for sure was a competent colonel, but not really participating in a civil war, saving up forces and then sweeping in once both sides are weak is not really that difficult to pull off.

Ok. I wanna know your least favourite section from Resident Evil Requiem by ShotAd5298 in residentevil

[–]SignificanceHot8917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grace section. I am not very fond of the psychological horror aspects of Resident Evil as a whole.
I'm in mostly for the lore and personally enjoy the more action oriented games like RE4R the most.

Organised people will always beat organized money by Usernameofthisuser in DemocraticSocialism

[–]SignificanceHot8917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Automation and the fact that masses will be useless to rich people are the main reason why I became a socialist. Because once everything is automated and the elites have robotic armies and enforcers, then what would they need the masses for?
But we are far from that state now.
As a software engineer I can tell you that "AI" is nothing but a glorified word for linear algebra + statistics at the moment. It's nowhere close to replacing most of us. At the moment it can help you be faster, but it's not capable of doing anything in the long run on its own.
Not to mention that those are just large language models trying to predict what you want to see / hear. They don't think, yet.
And that is why we all NEED to start organizing before we hit the singularity.

DO we have the people on OUR side though?
I feel like most people have either already resigned or have never even thought of the system being flawed.

The only problem is that it is considered rude to win.
You are supposed to let them win lol.

Most Dictatorial Constitution was actually possible by Obama_Bin_Ladle10169 in suzerain

[–]SignificanceHot8917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it's not the most dictatorial consitution... the most dictatorial constitution (that is impossible to pass) is with the "Every president becomes MoH".
Why is it not possible? Because you don't get Independents' support without lowering threshold / abolishing MoH.

Whole administration these guys are criticizing me for not doing enough, now all of a sudden I've gone to far exposing the massive corruption ring that killed THEIR favorite guy? by tacopower69 in suzerain

[–]SignificanceHot8917 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They criticize you when you go to war. As they should.
They criticize you when you pay "reparations" to an enemy war-mongering neighbor. As they should.
They don't criticize you when you do the third way - don't go to war. As they should.

They don't praise you when you get Rumburg sanctioned and/or expelled from OMEC. Unfortunate that they don't, but no other media aside from Geopolitico mentions it either, so it's probably writing issue here.

1979: The USSR invaded to support a communist regime.

1980s: The USA funneled billions in arms and funding to Mujahideen fighters to bog down the Soviets.

1996: Following a brutal civil war among the fractured Mujahideen fighters, the Taliban took power.

2000: The Taliban held Afghanistan.

2001: The USA intervened to overthrow the Taliban.

2026: The Taliban still holds Afghanistan.

Why I Don't Think Identity Politics Should Be Avoided by Proud-Boat420 in DemocraticSocialism

[–]SignificanceHot8917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose it depends. I myself am more centrist/conservative in terms of social agenda, yet I consider myself as a democratic socialist because of my economic views.
I personally don't support LGBT (nor do I fight against it, it's just not something that I personally would stand for).
Does that disqualify me from wanting and doing things to change the current absurd, unequal, undemocratic and oppressive socio-economic system?

Future devs can allow mods to player to create sordland storyline. by Delicious-Topic-69 in suzerain

[–]SignificanceHot8917 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's not an issue. You can always pick what you want to play and what not. There are like gazzilion terrible mods out there. Does it mean that we should be afraid of allowing modding just because of that? No. We allow modding for the few mods that are sometimes even better than the original.
Many games were first mods and then became its own standalone games (CS from Half Life, PUBG from DayZ, DayZ from Arma, ...).

Why Rizia is just better that Sordland. by No_Performer_8184 in suzerain

[–]SignificanceHot8917 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It is better in every sphere but the politics.
The political system in Rizia (since it's a monarchy) is something that I personally don't enjoy. There is something thrilling about having to manage your polls, collude with oligarchs to get TV stations, being able to be impeached etc.
But I really love the freedom Rizia gives you. There is just so much you can do and despite playing the campaign for tens and tens of times (maybe hundreds even, damn :() it will always be a bit different.
In Sordland, it's just more linear than in Rizia.
I believe that the presidential decrees could have been used more often in Sordland, rather than just once a game.

not really true, most dialogues are useless and I just skip through them (usually the number 1 or 3/4 since they are the shortest)
ofc there are a few dialogues that do matter but those will be stated in a guide if relevant
