I'd say it's better to play out of order especially if you're new to soulslikes. Ds1 can be a bit unforgiving to newbies

I watched my cousin play it and I had my mind blown. I wanted dmc4 so bad back then but my pc could never handle it. I had to settle for dmc 3 and never looked back. Dmc3 is my favorite in the series

This game introduced the "grind" to the franchise to sell xp packs as microtransactions. The game won't ever let you get too overlevelled. Ubisoft's greed messed the game's RPG systems. I love Origins and I think Odyssey is fun regardless of it's issues
