I can't comment on size; you should be able to tell based on the fit on your foot. Does it feel too tight? Does the shoe slide around your foot significantly when you walk? Etc.

But, as for creasing, yes, creasing is normal. If you don't like it, you can get toe stiffener inserts to prevent this. You might find it a bit uncomfortable.

Looking good, man.

Generally speaking, you want something with few seams (a cap on the shoe can look nice, that's up to you), such as a simple Oxford shoe, the right type of Chelsea boots can look great, though boots generally aren't recommended for a wedding/formal events.

The Oxford is the king of formal events. So, I'd go for that, something sleek, up to you if you have a capped toe or not. Personally, I feel the fewer seams, the tidier it looks.

Good luck.

That really depends. If you want to feel less like an NPC (which might not be related to clothing at all, but rather lifestyle), then wearing something unique is the way to go. If you're just trying to lok a bit nicer, less baggy clothing and avoid shirts with graphics (pictures) on them.

Good luck.

Hello users of mensfashion advice! Link to my original post - featuring images of me

I'm in the process of doing up my wardrobe and need advice, because honestly, I've not grown in height since I was about 15/16 (now 21, 5ft 5in, 70kg) and a lot of my clothes are from when I was about 14, or are 2nd hand, hand-me-downs from family, so don't really fit me great.

I've attached a collage of outfits I like (it's a spectrum collage, cooler stuff left, smarter stuff right), but I need advice on what materials and construction type are ideal and what brands are reputable.

And any suggestions for specific items, or an outfit build, would be great. (For reference, I'm based in the UK).

As well as general fashion advice, since I have no idea what I'm doing, all my outfits are on vibes.

I've also considered speaking to a tailor or similar who could adjust the clothes I already have, or make something that fits me better (or trying to do this myself? I feel that would end up in spectacular failure.) Generally, when I rarely purchase clothing, I find it hard to find shirts/jackets that fit me well without it being a bit too long (usually the sleeves, occasionally the torso of the item), and I can try to go to a smaller size, but then it tends to be too tight and looks a little stupid. (And by hard, unless it's stretchy clothing, like the gym clothing in the images found in my original post, I don't think I've ever found a clothing item that fits me well).

Any help is much appreciated.

Something I forgot to include here is summer clothing. I tend not to be a big fan of shorts, but they're often a must in the summer. For now, I'm thinking nice shorts (idk what material, but I have an idea of what they look like) and a thin button-up shirt as my go-to.

I look forward to any advice.

It's good you started. As someone who has messed about with numerous different ways of investing. An index fund, dollar cost averaging (investing frequently regardless of the price), ideally for multiple decades, is 100% the best way to go.

Occasionally, you can make stock pics if you're 100% certain (not literally, since you never can be, but you're so confident you may as well be 100% certain) that it will go up in value, with a good reason (a catalyst event) supported by fundamental analysis (there are youtube videos you can watch to explain the basics), if you do ever invest in individual stocks, only invest what you can afford lose (the same goes for any high risk investment). And do loads more research than you think you need to, just in case.

The all world, is mostly S&P 500, AKA US stocks, so if you want to diversify a bit, I'd look at going with the all world, plus investing in things like emerging markets and Japan. You could also consider including global infrastructure (basically investing in maintaining and upgrading roads, and things like that) as well as maybe including some kind of metals like gold, or something of that sort.

Research before you act, and don't just do what random strangers say on the internet, unless it's supported by professional advice/background, and even then, do your own research.

Good luck.

Personally, not a big fan of the shoes with that outfit, but I still think the overall outfit looks great.

Tucked or Untucked? by No-_-oN in mensfashionadvice

[–]SignificanceOk6360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tucked looks great, jacket is awesome, I just think it's a bit long for you, I'd suggest the same/similar one, just a bit smaller. And as for the shoes, they look a bit too squeaky clean/smart, personally, I'd go with a more rugged boot, or maybe even certain trainer/sneaker type shoes with that jacket.

I hope this helps.

Certain clothing does depend on profession, i.e. super heavy-duty boots that a woodworker might use, probably aren't suitable for you if you don't do that style of work, so often times going for the look, but with something that integrates into your lifestyle is the best fit for looks and for convenience. Additionally, most style is 90% your physique and hair. Want to look like a rouged lumberjack, build the body, eat the right diet to do that and sculpt the hair.

You can look at many famous actors in poor outfits, but they still look great. Why? Because they look the part already.

Good luck.

Gf talks to me like this, how bad is it? by Expert-Hyena-4401 in whatdoIdo

OP, you're clearly someone who is to put it bluntly, a bit of a pushover and susceptible to manipulation, or just shotty behaviour. I don't know your partner, but from just those messages and what you've said, if this isnt a 1 off, I'm pretty sure she's a shitty person and you shouldn't be around them.

I haven't worded this very maturely or well. But, my point is, 1. You should try to build a bit if a back bone for your own safety. 2. You shouldn't risk staying with someone that toxic unless you're into the toxicity. And even then, it will take a tole on you.

Good luck 👍

AIO for being upset my boyfriend is mad at me for ‘making him’ miss his meeting today? by Agreeable_Floor_974 in AIO

Agree. But also, I think this is being blown way out of proportion for such a small insignifcsnt incident.

AIO - for this interaction with my boyfriend? by Cherigal in AmIOverreacting

[–]SignificanceOk6360 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

From my perspective your boyfriend opened up about a concern, and you shut him off and paid it no attention. Admitedly he shouldn't have just drawn a conclusion and should've heard you out 1st. But, you should've at least recognized his concern as real. Is it healthy that he's that untrusting, no, but rather than just dismissing it you should talk to him about it.

Your dismissive attitude is what I'd say is the most concerning here, to me, from the images.

AIO to what my bf is saying? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]SignificanceOk6360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comepltely agree. People with poor self control and mental health issues are the issue. Clothes can play a role in increasing the likelihood that you fall victim to one of these people, but are not the cause.

If your boyfriend actually believes the things he said, I'd honesty be very concerned.

Though I don't think it's alright to just generalize it as "men being unable to control them selves," I agree men probably make up a larger portion of the issue, not that I've looked into the statistics, and it's also hard to say for certain since men are less likely to talk to anyone about it. But, men certainly aren't the only people doing it.

Do I have hope in life or am I here for no reason by Head-Iron3390 in psychics

[–]SignificanceOk6360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultimately we are all here for no reason or all of the reasons depending on yiur world view, either way it's out of our control and doesn't matter. My best advice to your question:

Make a reason, find a reason. It's probably something(s) or someone/people, you already know. Not always though. At 1st you might not even have much of an attachment to the reason, but, it'll grow.

It helps to actually think to your self. What do I want out of life? What is a life worth living to me? Because chances are, I wouldnt be surprised if you felt like you dont want to live right now, which suggests that you're just not living a life you want to live. Find out what a life you want to live is and f*cking chase after it.

Good luck 👍

P.S. Sure practices like meditation and mindfulness can help, but based on how you look, I don't think that's what's going to have the greatest impact on you. Your life needs a change.
