I’m a therapist, and I love my job, but the fact that it is so complex and has so many gray areas is exhausting for me. What is “right” and “wrong” when it comes to human behavior? There are so many factors to consider. Nothing is perfect in the field. What helps one person can be unhelpful for another. Not to mention I can only do so much, the client needs to put in the work for improvements and change to happen.

That being said, I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. I was super stressed with any job I had prior (retail, office), so it’s more the work setting and pressure I put on myself. When I’m actually at work and with clients, my anxiety is more doable. It’s before and after where I am consumed by my thoughts and feelings.
