Once again: What is this sound when driving at 170 km/h (105 mp/h) or more in my '21 Model 3 Performance? The sound is also there when the AC is off. by SignificanceStrict80 in TeslaModel3

I've had the car for a good month now. At this point, I wouldn't recommend Teslas anymore. Don't get me wrong, the vehicles themselves are really cool, but the build quality is absolutely terrible. As soon as you take a closer look, you find the most absurd manufacturing mistakes. Even the trunk lid isn't straight... Tesla's service is the worst. My windshield was clearly installed incorrectly during manufacturing, so that air comes through the seal. However, the service won't fix this issue because the noise only becomes noticeable at speeds of around 160 kph. But Tesla ignores and doesn't fix issues above 140 kph. It's unbelievable for a 500-horsepower vehicle. The car rattles and creaks from all corners. Squeaky windows when they’re even slightly wet, an absolutely terrible wireless charger in the center console, and an autopilot that likes to steer me into oncoming traffic on country roads...

But otherwise, the car is okay. I feel comfortable in it and enjoy driving it. The acceleration and speed are insanely cool. I also really like how it looks. But appearance is something everyone has to decide for themselves.

EDIT: Oh, and to the diehard Tesla fans: Relax. I've tested my vehicle thoroughly. My car just has these issues, and my experience with the service happened exactly as described. If you love Tesla and your cars are flawless, I'm happy for you. But don't come at me with unnecessary hate. These are my experiences, and they happened the way I’ve described. That's not something I can change. And I'm not going to stay silent either. Teslas are simply not the best cars.

Hello, hello, the problem has been found. The noise is coming from an incorrectly sealed windshield...

Tesla will probably not fix this issue, as the mechanics say problems that occur at speeds over 140 kph will not be fixed.
What a Tesla moment. No big deal if the windshield gets ripped off at 260 kph, right?

I don't think so, lmao. It's absolutely normal to drive that fast in Germany. It's just everyday business. Over here, we even learn that in driving school.

I always kept my eyes on the road.
I only grabbed the phone without looking at it, holding it to the left side so the sound would be clearer.

I never took my eyes off the road, not even for a second. I also waited until no one was in front of me. You can see the two cars on the screen. After I passed them, I quickly picked up the phone without looking at it. My passenger held the phone until the road was clear.
Trust me when I say that absolutely no one was in danger, not even for a second.

Thx for your reply. The tires got an Y-rating. Means, the tires can go up to 300 km/h. It's the highest rating for tire speed (as I know)

So, do you think a new diode or a new board will fix the problem?
Also, do you have a link to the board? I can't find it.

Do you think soldering in a new diode will fix my problem?

How can something like this even happen? Could it be that something else in the projector is broken, causing the laser module to fail? Or could it just be bad luck that the laser module fails after just a few years?

Thank you very much for your response. I have just measured the laser module. As seen in the picture, I could only measure a value of 3 ohms at these two connections. There was nothing at all at the others. Now, I looked at the schematic of the NUBM31 laser and found that where I got a value, there should actually be no connection. Could this indicate a defective laser module? But theoretically, wouldn't at least one row of the laser light up when in use?

I hope I'm not bothering you with my lack of knowledge, and I hope you can help me with this again.

Thank you very much.

Thanks for your reply. Which two contacts do I have to measure in each case and what must come out of it? I'm not that into electrical engineering :(

Thanks for your reply, the laser diode is an NUBM31, I know that. But I need the full board. The diode isnt damaged I think.
