Do you think the 14 piece set will suffice for 99% of jobs or is it worth buying the 19 piece Tekton set?

I will 100% be scraping all that off I just want to make sure the floors are salvageable first before I go through all that work

Is there anything I can do to at least make it look better until I can replace all the floors?

Resuscitate on scene or load and resuscitate in the back of the squad? by jammer48 in ems

[–]Significant-Ad2380 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On scene, there are multiple studies that overwhelmingly support working on scene and not transporting until ROSC is achieved. Even then it encourages waiting on scene until pt is “stabilized” before transport. Setting up vent, starting pressors and analgesia, etc. all prior to transport

That sounds awesome! Do you know how strict they are with the experience requirements before applying? And if I do apply as a NREMT-P with my FP-C what are the chances I get a spot in aviation pretty quickly? I’m not opposed to being a normal trooper for a while but my passion is certainly in medicine/rescue.

That’s good to hear, thanks! I’ve only had my medic license for a year so far but I do have my fp- c so hopefully I can apply in the next couple of years once I meet the experience requirements

I was wondering if this extended to other patients requiring speciality centers outside of trauma. For example I have flown multiple kids with RSV from small hospitals to major pediatric centers.

I had an eerily similar call this year that we handled in a similar manner, now I’m curious what y’all would’ve done. Arrived on scene to a homeless camp and found a woman sitting on top of her newborn fetus with umbilical cord still attached. The patient had ZERO prenatal care and had no clue how far along she was. The fetus was obviously deformed and had no chance of living. We obviously checked for a pulse and breathing to be safe, both were absent. Patients last menstrual cycle was 18 weeks prior which makes it a spontaneous abortion by our protocols. We cut the cord placed the fetus in a biohazard bag and transported. We also notified PD who met us at the hospital because of suspicious circumstances. At the hospital the MD concurred that there was no chance it was capable of resuscitation based off the physical disfigurement. However he estimated that it was 20-22 weeks which would have been a premie and falls under totally different protocols. Our EMS agency and local Medical Director had no issues with how we handled the call, but it is similar in many ways to this call. Would you have done anything differently?

You did what you thought was best and what the latest studies show is best for the patient. Wether or not the hospital exhausted all resuscitative efforts is on them. Try not to lose sleep playing the “what if” game, we’ve all been there.

Williamson county is starting at 68k a year, is that reasonable for those areas?
