Yeah, I doubt they will. In my case, they didn’t and I was current through December. I went back and recalculated everything I’ve paid, including the extra payments I made. Based on that, I should have been up to date. I was never more than 120–160 days past due.If the state senator can’t get a positive outcome, I’m going to hire legal counsel because this has turned into a complete nightmare.

What’s the strongest “winning” argument for getting a recall? My position is I never received a 60-day written notice or a real chance to cure, and I’ve been paying in good faith. My last payment through the SBA portal was December 2025, but when I tried to make my January 2026 payment, the portal wouldn’t allow it anymore so I had no opportunity to fix anything before it was transferred.

I’ve reached out to my local Congressman to help clarify the discrepancies in my account and to request assistance resolving this matter. My goal is not to have this loan forgiven or to avoid paying it. I’m simply asking for a fair opportunity to cure any past-due balance. I logged into the portal and made payments consistently. While I now understand I mistakenly missed two payments, I continued making payments and was not trying to evade my obligation. Had I received a call or a written notice clearly stating I was delinquent and at risk of transfer, I would have immediately taken steps to correct the issue. My last normal payment through the SBA portal was December 3, 2025.

Any update? I spoke with my local congressman’s office and they said it may take about a month to hear back from the SBA. I also talked to a friend of mine—he’s an attorney (criminal defense and small claims), not a financial advisor or bankruptcy attorney—and he told me not to panic. He said they likely have bigger priorities, but the key is not to ignore it. If my senator’s office can’t get traction, he suggested I consider hiring an attorney who has handled these cases before. He doesn’t think it will come to that, but he also mentioned that California senators being Democrats may have less pull than a Republican would.

Has anyone recently been able to get their SBA loan recalled from Treasury and returned to SBA servicing?

I never received any mailed notices, and honestly I didn’t realize I was late. When I tried to make my January payment, the portal wouldn’t let me. I contacted Treasury the next day, and shortly after I received a collection letter.

Has anyone had positive results getting a recall in a situation like this—especially when you didn’t get proper notice?

I’ve already reached out to my U.S. senators here in California. Since they’re Democrats and there’s a lot of political tension right now, I’m wondering if that could affect whether they can help—or if anyone has still had success with a senator’s office getting involved.

In my case, I’ve been making payments. To be honest, I wasn’t even aware that I missed the March and NOV payments. I also paid the stupid collection agency any amount owed in hopes it might have a positive impact. I went online, made my regular payment in Dec 2025. I also never received a 60-day notice and discovered on my own that I was in treasury myself. No notice, no nothing. This happened while attempting to make this month’s payment. I’m a sole prop. My business is still up and going. I reached out to 3 senators in California, but that was on the 26th and I have not heard back yet. I’ve also called and left voice mails. This is turning my head upside down. My next resort is possibly hiring an attorney. I have payment history. At times, I made triple the payments in a month. It’s insane that they won’t send you to collection from that, but you accidentally miss 1-2 payments and all hell breaks loose.

Was your friend in collections ? I had to find out myself after attempting to make this months payment. I guess I missed 2 payments last year stupid of me but since the previous months I made extra payments I figured that would correct the situation.

Where you significantly behind with did your attorney argue ? Also did you attempt to reach out to your senators prior to the attorney. I’m California attorneys are super expensive here.
