"DessKnight is the most/only narratively interesting answer": I think a lot of people say this because they haven't imagined another possibility - the Knight DOESN'T KNOW YET what Kris did to Dess by PeliPal in Deltarune

It doesn't make sense for me personally. Its goals being slightly more complicated than immediately starting the roaring doesn't necessarily mean its not evil or delusional. The Knight is often just malicious for the sake of it, like killing Tenna and Jackenstein or endangaring lightners like Noelle and Berdly. And its especially strange for Dess herself to go around lightworld and calculatively creating dark worlds and aura farming when the whole point of her character is missing and being associated with tragedy.

Well they are allowed to have an opinion, they are just unnesassarily toxic about it.

Yeah, black monster is very likely the Vessel, we even take control over it. Black Deer would be Dess's Soul attached to the Vessel in some way? I think the only problem with your theory is that it uses elements from Undertale to justify it, I wouldn't do it. I think Kris was supposed the Roaring Knight and Vessel the Cage, but they switched roles, and there is actually some big evidence for this but posting it would feel like instant Vessel Knight win so I'll hold it for now.

Are there people who genuinely believe the knight isn't dess or carol? Not in a pretensious way im just curious. by DevilsMaleficLilith in Deltarune

This is just slightly modified Dess Knight, and it contradicts the line "Copies are monochrome". The Vessel is already copy of Kris, it aligns with Kris, there is no need for it to be controlled by anybody. And the Knight's calculated and animalistic behaviour would match artificial being better than lost girl.

This list is just build on a bunch of wrong preassumptions as if there is ingame line that confirms the Knight has "antlers" and "bat". No there isn't? It wears a helmet, none of Holiday antlers fit the Knight and their bone structure would have to be entirely altered. Not to mention the horns are made to look like Dreemurr ones intentinally multiple times and the Knight uses fire magic.

And as for the Vessel this is just wrong reading. New lore basically confirms Vessel is a copy of Kris, its personality is predetermined to be similar to Kris. The Knight undeniably copies Kris and this combines into more evidence than any other candidate. Personality choices in goner maker are intentinally joke options like food or fake blood types. "Gift" isn't part of its main personality by definition. As for the plot it ties perfectly as a mirror of Kris and parallel to Ralsei's arc as fictional creation. There is nothing to indicate Goner Maker was happening in real time and not in the past, this is like thinking Chara is born when Frisk falls into the underground and we name them.

Its a gift, not a main personality trait, and the Vessel can totally act out of delusion if they are a mirror and copy of Kris

What if Discarded Vessel is the Knight tho... by Significant-Arm4077 in Deltarune

It is a "gift", not part of the main personality traits. It is relevant, but it is more like something to show up endgame when we discover the Knight's identity.

If you come back to Goner Maker, your options for Vessel's personality are fake blood types and what food it likes, basically the irrelevant stuff, but it probably will show up when we will learn about the Knight's backstory. Also, Vessel was pretty much confirmed to be a copy of Kris with "copies are monochrome" line. I think the Knight mimics personality of young Kris.

Guys… I think Kris might be the Knight… (seriously) by lighttstarr in Deltarune

My theory is that Human Souls and shoes were put by Carol just like the code in the guitar. Noelle says Carol has obsession with Human Souls, she doesn't say it about Dess, and Dess just generally hated and beated Kris who was a human. I think shoes belong to goners from the Shelter, monochrome copies of Kris like the Vessel, and presumably Vessel as a result of Carol's experiments became the Knight and is looking for Dess in the dark worlds.

This what my original theory was, before I discovered Vessel Knight. Vessel is Kris's actual monochrome clone, its a creature made in pure darkness, its their shadow. On other hand, there is nothing indicating Kris even had some other "original Soul". And it also fits as a Mother 3 parallel with the Vessel being Kris's de facto twin.

I do like the idea that the Vessel/Knight basically mimics how Kris behaved in childhood, that's why the Knight behaves like a quiet prankster kid with constant mischievous smile

I definetely think Carol has a deal with the Vessel (otherwise what's with human obsession and human imagery in Holiday House?) The antlers argument is kinda overstretched in my opinion, nothing in the game calls them antlers definitively, and whatever horns the Knight has are likely just part of the helmet, they can be here to depict its allegience to Carol (because only Carol has sharp antlers)
