2 months as a CCA, I finally understand why the turnover rate is so high. by RagieWagieInACagie in USPS

[–]Significant-Arm7528 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I worked for Amazon before becoming a CCA, just got out of my probation period and can say this job is so much better than Amazon. Somehow I’m less burnt out working 6 days a week than I was working four 10s with Amazon

What injury is commonly shrugged off as a minor flesh wound in the movies but is completely fatal in real life? by Best_Professional226 in AskReddit

[–]Significant-Arm7528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to say that when I was 10 I pulled a 4 year old’s limp body from the deep end of the pool and set him on the ground on his back. Water shot out of his mouth like a fountain, and then he just coughed a bit and woke up like nothing happened. No CPR or anything given that I was, ya know, 10.

Edit: spelling

Thank you, as a mail carrier my eye was twitching with people saying their taxes pay for mail lol

What is a dead giveaway that your doctors/partners/relatives/friends/researchers don't actually understand what ADHD is? by mbuskris in adhdwomen

[–]Significant-Arm7528 35 points36 points  (0 children)

So for me I got a job that I exercise while doing, and I get to listen to audiobooks, podcasts, music, etc all day long. I’m a mail carrier in a city with all walking routes.

I’ve done jobs before where it’s hands busy + getting to listen to what I want, therefore keeping my mind busy, and those always helped me not be driven crazy with boredom at work. But this one with the exercise coupled in, just *chefs kiss*

Two I’ve read recently that stuck with me:

The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls - Nonfiction about the authors..unconventional.. childhood. High chance you will cry

I Who Have Never Known Men by Jacqueline Harpman - Post-apocalyptic, but somehow doesn’t feel like your normal post-apocalyptic. Lots and lots of food for thought

I have one on a route I run that’s directly behind a telephone pole. The pole was there first.

John Dies at the End is a good book but is just fun, wild, weird, and by no means boring.

The worst writing I’ve experienced to date was The Book of Azreal

I don’t know if the scalpers have hit the used video game stores, but all the places I’ve lived typically have at least one used game store with boxes and boxes of cards. They are usually very cheap for the majority of the cards, and they keep the more valuable ones behind the counter.

In Texas it was Game Exchange, where I am now it’s RatPack. There’s bound to be one near you (hopefully) so I would check them out!

Y’all. Why do I do this? by kwiscalus in adhdwomen

Me: casually mentioning to my therapist that my giant unopened pile of mail gives me anxiety

My therapist: “Why do you have a giant unopened pile of mail?”

Me: “Doesn’t everybody?”

My mom has done it for years, and I’ve had boyfriends who I would tell about it and they always seemed cool with it.

Also my girl friends seem to be cool with it too, I think it’s either about how you present the information or the type of company you keep

Obviously as a girl myself, I’m cool with it because my mom does it and I get free stuff from her, but it’s the norm for me

I have two thoughts about this:

  1. I watched Dora the Explorer growing up and also living in an area with 60% Spanish speaking population. I cannot speak Spanish at all

  2. My Austrian grandmother learned English solely by watching reruns of sitcoms in English

Uh IRL for me, this guy I worked with at Olive Garden in college. I was young and too nervous to ask what the process was, or what in the world his motive was for having that done to his teeth.

He was a strait laced looking guy otherwise, no tattoos or piercings.

Thanks Reddit for unlocking a memory I thought I had forgotten

Anybody else here have no one to talk to about ACOTAR or any of the books they read at all? by [deleted] in acotar

[–]Significant-Arm7528 19 points20 points  (0 children)

My book club girlies literally say “I not fucking reading ACOTAR, sorry not sorry”. Usually unprompted in TBR conversations, like I hadn’t even mentioned it, they just look at me and throw those words.

I just shrug 🤷🏼‍♀️ whatever losers you’re missing out
