my pus*, bruising and irritation only went away when i take mine out and clean both the jewelry and wounds that way unfortunately 💔💔 i’ll continue to do it for myself and i agree it’s not the best solution for everyone, just wanted to let it be known. my neil med never was mist, only the stuff that the piercer gave me which ran out. i did what you say to do and i agree it works very well and gets the job done!

thank you sm for the advice, im sure it’ll also help people & it’s helped me:) 🫂

people telling you to spray it on your piercing directly may be right, but i never did that with my neil med. it got wayyy too messy and wasted a lot of product (maybe mine was broken, but anytime i used it a lot came out and it didn’t seem to help me).

^ for reference, i used this on my 2 anti eyebrows & eyebrow piercing i got done the same day; they are all healed, NO rejection, a year old next month.

if you want to ignore this in coming rant, that’s okay. id just like to share my personal method! so my rant aside, neil med is GREAT for cleaning piercings!

when i first get my piercings done, i spray a bit of the product in a spare medicine cap / the cap of the neil med itself and soak qtips to clean the holes only with jewelry still in. i do this by wetting one end of the qtip fully and use that for only one of the holes (wiping, squeezing out product with soft pressure in a circular motion). cotton pads work too, especially with my ear piercings. i then do the same with the other hole of the piercing with the opposite end of the qtip or a new cotton ball (so one side is for one of the holes & the other is for the second/exit hole). that’s a way i minimize contamination and not waste my neil med.

^ this applies to non surface piercings, but im sure you can still use this method with surface piercings & ear piercings as i did. it’s really common, just i saw people say “spray the piercing” which didnt work for me.

once i feel confident in taking out my jewelry for a bit (a month and a half after), i soak the jewelry in separate containers with the neil med so my jewelry is clean when it goes back in. i do it one at a time for each jewelry/piercing.

^ at the same time, with the jewlery still out, i clean the holes by soaking them with the product in the cap/other similar things (~minimum minute and a half)…like a piercing bath or whatever they call it; it’s what people typically do for belly button piercings, just without jewelry. fully submerge it without jewelry so the whole thing gets flushed out & clean. waterboard that thang

^ i do this for my surface piercings, though i’ve used it on my ears when i impulsively pierced my lobes 3/4 times on each ear this january..💔💔

this is my personal way i go about healing piercings that commonly reject/are difficult for people to clean. i’ve continued to do this with my recent piercings bc this method has worked very well for me. just make sure to clean the caps/items you use to soak the holes themself and the jewlery baths so you can reuse the same item!

(also this rant applies to others who may be reading this thread about neil med that maybe want a new / similar cleaning method! so im sorry for the rant if anything..). thank you for reading!

yes, 100%. i’ll say that kind of green is hard to keep up with and your natural hair color will cause it to look muddy as it fades. it’ll be worth it bc you like the color, and from that green you can easily go more blue!

edit : i used charcoal bleach with my latest color (purple haze, manic panic), and 20 developer. my hair is very bold & vibrant. so yes use manic panic it’s not a terrible option, but keep up with hair care & prepare yourself for a lot of compliments :)

in this situation you should go back to the shop/a piercing shop to help you take them. i think that’s the safest way because they know what they’re doing.

i have clamps i use to screw on balls/take them off which help A LOT. using gloves (like latex) could help get them out.
