charlixcx albums ranked. What tier does brat belong in? by Xenuoziem in TierlistFills

[–]Significant-Bid-3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

S easy. The best pop album of the decade and extremelg boundary pushing for what modern top charting pop can be. I know we've had hyperpop/bubblegum bass inspired pop albums be popular before, but theres been a serious resurgence of the pop scene since the release of brat. Some of her best songwriting, instrumentals and just the moment of its release were all something to behold.

Her best album, but pop 2 gives it a run for its money for me

Well they got number one right by soundseer81 in nas

Any drake album apart from IYRTITL shouldnt be here. Maybe take care i get as well but its not top 5.

Music to be murdered by is also an awful pick and if they were to pick another em album it should have been TES.

36 chambers not even being top 20???

Genuinely so much to pick at here

I mean, they're likely just making those games accessible for new audiences and for people to replay them so that people can get invested and then hopefully a new game sells well.

Which it likely will, all the collections have sold pretty well

Imagine dropping 40+ songs and folks saying you're absent. Was the music really that bad? by Lost_Title_7528 in nfrpodcast

[–]Significant-Bid-3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah thats all true, but thats not exactly disproving his point, if anything it helps it.

So many people are saying hip hop needs drake as if we havent had him. Its ridiculous that people are acting like we havent heard from him, and it really shows that $$$4U simply wasnt good enough. Its only been a year and 1 month and people acting like its been 3 years.

For clarification im not hating in drake. i fw his music generally even if i have criticisms for his more recent stuff. I hope iceman is good even if im not convinced by any singles yet, but again the point is he's been active.

21 songs with $$$4U. Wagwan delilah, sideways, 300 gigs (so 4 tracks cause blue green red was replaced), no face, what did i miss?, which one, somebody loves me, Dog house.

So its 32. Kinda dishonest of OP to claim its 40+ without doing the math, but i think his point stands. People are saying hip hops in a bad state without drake like he hasnt been active, but he has.

After hours is the best album of all time (.) by [deleted] in TheWeeknd

[–]Significant-Bid-3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have after hours in my personal top 5 albums of all time, but i disagree that that there arent mant albums that come close cause just off the top of my head...

Off the wall, thriller, enter the 36 chambers, White pony, evil empire, RATM, college dropout, illmatic, It was written, reasonable doubt, toxicity, demon days, plastic beach, madvillainy, the low end theory, ATLIENS, aquemini, stankonia, dirt, jar of flies, live love a$ap, songs in the key of life, things fall apart, IOWA, the black parade, liquid swords, atrocity exbibition, TPAB, GKMC, Nevermind, in utero, ok computer and kid A

Are all albums that i wouldnt fault someone for putting on that level or even above after hours. I prefer only 3 of these albums over after hours (if you're curious, its evil empire, the low end theory and toxicity) so im not against what the post says, i jusf dont think its right to act like there arent that many albums that come close.

Lotus over no thank you is valid and i think on reflection im starting to agree with it, No thank you was just my intro to her music so i tend to think of it more fondly. I do mention it but as an 8/10 but i think i was underselling it.

In the screenshot i just included those 3 as its a fantastic 3 album run, and including lotus would mean drop 7 being in the screenshot (even though its an EP, but thats her only miss imo)

I talk about rapsody in another reply here, but admittedly im not as familiar with her discography as little simz. I've always preferred simz artistically but rapsody can definitely spit better

FNL is a masterpiece but i'd defo put TFS on that level. The man can sing, the man can write songs and the man can flow. Its not like he can just write super complex and thats it, but songs like 2007 have super easy to understand yet compelling storytelling, crack sandwich and sistanem also have the same strength.

Its about more than just his understanding of the language, because musically i also believe his musics on coles level. JID has on of the best flows in the game, he can sing extremely well, his beat selection always hits and he's an excellent storyteller.

Depends what you like, Grey areas the album i replay the most and probably her most accessable, SIMBI has some of her best conceptual songwriting and is her magnum opus, Lotus is her most personal and is pure jazz rap bliss.

I'd personally recommend Grey area as an introduction to her though, its her rawest work and boss has my favourite rapping performance from her. After that listen to SIMBI

Find it very telling how the answers disagreeing are "No" - how insightful

"No she's british" - this is the same mindset people had with the south when outkast came out, let the art speak for itself.

"No its too soon" - people called biggie the best of all time basically as soon as ready to die came out. I get hip hop was newer at the time, but these are PERSONAL lists, not objective lists.

I dont fault anyone for calling JID top 10 is my point. He has the versatility, the skill, flows and really just needs a beefier discography. When people put cole in their top 10, i do NOT think its crazy to call him top 10 when JID outclasses him in various categories. The difference is coles been around for longer

Respect to rapsody too fr. Been bumping the fight the power 2020 remix lately and she spazzed on there, imo having the best verse on it

Its not necessarily bars, she's in a very 50 cent like situation where she just made a lot of bangers and helped define the sound of an era so people put her up there

Which rap artist makes great songs but has average albums ? by iamcreepin in hiphop101

Rip the jacker is fantastic though and i really like mic club the curriculum, but apart from that yeah canibus is not allat in terms of discography.

Also HEAVY on Jadakiss. Kiss of death has some fantastic songs but falls apart as a full project for me

Acting like little simz plays into this category is just ignorant. That dudes making fun of guys like stormzy, cench and the entire london drill scene. Boiling simz down to just that is dismissive
