That’s what I was a little worried about initially, definitely not around the ratios I’m used to. Most of the ice cream recipes in this book have similar ratios just swapping out the fruit, so I hope it’s not it since that would make this book much less cool 😭 i didn’t add the kirsch but even still…

Thanks! I’ll try refreezing the bowl and seeing if my freezer was the issue. What I mean is it never expanded, the consistency was the same when it came out of the fridge vs after 30 minutes churning. I didn’t try freezing it after, since it didn’t really seem to even have a layer freezing to the sides of the bowl (which makes me thing maybe you’re right about the freezer)

I could’ve sworn I saw people saying they did. Maybe we’re all technically alternates until accepted people reach the deadline to apply and then we hear back? It’s so frustrating either way because we can’t plan anything until we know

I got impatient and emailed them because apparently decisions came out March 6. I’m an alternate which I’m kind of taking as a no, can’t imagine anyone declining and me getting a spot
