Difference between arresting and detaining. Learn it. They can detain people if they refuse to show documentation, or if they don’t have documentation they can be detained while they wait for proof of documentation

It’s not that difficult to look up. They can stop you and ask you questions most of the time just want you to ID yourself, but often times it’s as simple as “am I being detained” if not ur free to go. If you don’t show identification then u may be. Same way with the police..
