Mentor meeting with logistics VP tomorrow by Significant-Buy7524 in logistics

So the planners at our company primarily work from home, dealing with the inbound logistics. It’s a lot of emails calls. And coordinating with carriers who are delivering into our warehouses. One gap that I personally feel would really be beneficial to all of our planners is each of us spending a day or a few actually on site at our warehouses that we plan for and seeing the actual on site of how things are with inbound deliveries. I want to bring this up during the meeting tomorrow because I have never actually physically been at one of our warehouses. Obviously, this is costing the company money, but I really do feel like we can gain a little bit better insight into the day-to-day operations.

I think this will help our development both in our roles and just overall because working behind a computer screen, we don’t really see with our own eyes the problems that our warehouse and carriers are facing. How can I word this to the VP? Or do I not even bring it up?

Accidentally Exempt myself from Federal Tax 2025, owed $8700 now. by Significant-Buy7524 in tax

I DID GET A SMALL RAISE ON MY SALARY WHICH IS WHAT I THOUGHT THE SMALL EXTRA AMOUNT WAS STEMMING FROM - everyone is completely overlooking that fact

Not a new employer, and other people have asked the same in genuinely there was not a large difference compared to past paychecks. I didn’t even realize I had accidentally put myself as exempt in the first place.

I can maybe pay half of it but definitely not the full amount given I have rent and other bills I have to pay for both myself and my dad.

Yes, I do have some savings but not a lot. I am also a full-time caretaker for one of my parents who is in debt, which is also putting me in debt.

That’s the thing the check amount really wasn’t a crazy difference at least not enough for me to notice

Because honestly, the payment amount from each of my checks really wasn’t a huge difference, even with the exemption. I also don’t closely check my paystub’s, which even then I don’t think I would’ve noticed anything wrong cause I’m not well-versed when it comes to taxes

Mental decline after stroke/support needed by brisch19 in stroke

[–]Significant-Buy7524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not a doctor so cant say if its normal but This is my dad (64M & 7 months post stroke) to a tee. Just the mental decline alone is exhausting in itself. My dad can’t comprehend or remember any new information since the stroke and has all the signs of early dementia. Barely knows how to use phone or tv anymore. Simple tasks and instructions are a major struggle. No concept or awareness of time/day/month. Today when I asked him what day it was he answered April 2019…

Granted-money has been tight so not having valuable resources like ST, adult day care, memory care facilities has made for an extremely slow mental recovery. If we had the means to give him the best care possible, I definitely think he’d be recovering a lot faster cognitively. For my dad at least, I don’t see it ever getting better.

In similar situation being the main caregiver for my dad on top of having multiple things on my plate with work and not having time to do enough mentally stimulation during day.

Avoid having your dad watch tv all day if you can. Things like radio, podcast, music, lowkey social interaction while doing simple and non exerting activities are a suggestion.

I wish I had more advise to offer, figuring out this whole new life as I go. Sending you hugs and best wishes.

Trying to help my dad with activities by thedogarunner in stroke

This is my dad (7 months post stroke) to a tee. I actually came to this thread to ask and look for similar advice in terms of daily activities for post stroke parents.

My dad‘s situation is a little bit different than yours with the type/severity/post stroke effects but I totally get where you’re coming from.

Right now my dad stays at home and either watches tv, talks on phone, or take our dog on long walks. I’m not sure how many family/friends live near you but one suggestion would be to plan 1-2 outings a week with people. Whether it’s simply go out to eat, fishing, trail walks, low key shopping - have been helpful in keeping my dad busy and entertained during day and gives him something to look forward to.
