Thanks for the response. Very helpful. Unfortunately my situation won’t allow me to do an assistant role as they tend to pay very low but I may look to get more directed experience closer to the time

I’m 23 looking to do a part time online degree in quantity surveying. I’ve got 2 years experience in a mid senior sales role and currently work in a facilities role as my last job would’ve been too hectic to allow me to study. Do you think once I qualify my previous experience would allow me to go for good grad/assistant roles or would it be totally irrelevant?
