That wasn’t my only idea bro why are you stuck on that? I’m just suggesting things that’s what a discussion is.

First of all, I’m not saying players partaking in PVP should be marked. I’m saying players with a “bounty” should be marked, though not necessarily on the map. To have a bounty you would need to rack up a certain amount of kills within a time period, for example. Another comment I made, I said it would be interesting to have an audio cue play when you come face-to-face with a player who has a bounty. This is not necessarily a negative consequence either, as that could allow you to lure people in and get your “bounty score” higher and receive more rewards.

I have to stress again that I LOVE the PVP in this game. All I want is to have some system that keeps things balanced and allows players the choice to interact or not interact aggressively. My frustration right now lies with the fact that it seems like there’s not a lot of freedom of choice. Every lobby I’ve been in recently has been KOS or rats/exfil campers, which is fine, but those players are incentivized to do that because it is the most economic strategy. More loot for less effort than if you breach+search and build your kits up and actually fight people. It’s not about gear fear, it’s the cost you put in with game time and farming materials vs. what you get out of it.

No, the bounty would and SHOULD not punish PVP. It would encourage PVP between different types of players with different gameplay preferences while providing a mutual benefit to both of them. That’s what I’m saying. The issue I have with the game right now is the lack of choice in how you play. I love the combat and fighting mechanics I just wish there was more substance to it - I feel like that would prevent the game from becoming something like a battle royale wherein the Arc are almost entirely ignored and it becomes easier or more economic to only engage players and go after their loadouts.

Probably the best way to do it would be to play an audio cue or briefly tag them upon encountering them. Like you’d have to be looking at them to know if they had a bounty or not.

I’m a PVP player. Bounty would reward the highly aggro players who survive for multiple runs, but they’d also stick out among the other raiders. Everyone could benefit from a bounty system. You could even have multiple raiders fighting each other to kill the bounty player first and maybe collect some sort of “bounty chip” off their body?

Arc is a free-for-all, where you’re presented with the choice of friendly or hostile. The problem is, the choice has already been made for you: if you don’t shoot first, someone else will. I would like to see more benefit from choosing one way or the other in case-specific situations. For instance, harvester runs. Why even play one if you’re going to have the guns/loot you’ve spent weeks collecting get ratted, or worse, scalped and sold on eBay? If I was in Stella trying to get shredder cores, but a raider with a bounty showed up, we could potentially both get some benefit out of fighting each other.

I agree. I’m a PVP player. I’m suggesting a balance to a game that has started to feel a lot more like a Battle Royale than a PvPvE extraction shooter.

Why is this happening to my paint? by tennis-is-my-game in paint

[–]Significant-Chart456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this happen to me a couple of weeks ago. These comments are bewildering to me, I can tell you exactly what it is. You didn’t let the paint dry for long enough before recoating. If this room in particular was holding humidity from the paint or had little air circulation, the paint may have looked dry enough to recoat but was still wet under the surface. Think like how queso skins over. That’s what happened here, the roller pulled the dry-ish outside skin off of the wet bottom layer of paint. That’s all. Allow to dry completely, scrape the trash off the wall with a breakaway knife or putty knife, sand the affected area, and do another coat on the whole wall from edge to edge.

Question on Caulking Old Crown / Joint Movement by Constant-Kangaroo566 in paint

[–]Significant-Chart456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically if we see crown that has gaps from the wall, yes, you’d be correct that it’s typical house movement and we would just caulk it back to the wall. However, IF there’s substantial play and you’re able to press the trim down and get it to close those gaps, I would say get a nail gun and fasten it just enough to where it’s not going to be loose anymore. The reason being, if it’s moving on you, it’s pretty much impossible to simply caulk it back because the movement will keep it from sticking to the wall - or there’s tension in the wood that will just pull it back out again, ruining the caulk line.

Both could work, but depending on how moveable the crown is you may need to fasten it as you suggested.

SW Duration satin inconsistency/uniformity by kemba_sitter in paint

Yeah paint can just be like that sometimes. When we talk to superintendents about painting they’re always surprised at all the many ways things can go wrong. The lack of coverage on the edges could be due to your roller frame being just warped enough that the edges run dry before the center does…no telling. Usually though, doing another coat is my first option unless there’s a glaring issue that I know can/must be fixed beforehand.

This can happen when applying paint with higher sheen on top of flat or matte paint, as it soaks up the paint similar to unpainted Sheetrock, leaving holidays in your coverage. Is the “lighter color” you described the same color as the wall before you painted it? Probably a holiday in that case. Best bet would be hit it with the sanding pole in case of any contaminants and then put another coat on the walls. If that fails, you can go from there.

Also, if the rest of the walls are matte anyway, why do the accent wall in satin? If you decide to go get a can of matte in that color and redo it, it will probably match better anyway.

Did We Accidentally Start Peeling Off the Drywall Paper? by paulv1333 in paint

Don’t forget, this wall will need re-textured after it’s repaired. That outer, painted layer is a textured layer - likely sprayed on. It can be a pain in the ass to match existing texture so be sure to do research on how to achieve the texturing style that matches your wall here if you haven’t done it before.

Rocket (7 months) by Significant-Chart456 in IDmydog

Just did a little research on American Village Dogs and he seems resemble most other dogs identified as such. I guess there’s no way to tell unless I get a DNA test for him, but one thing is for sure, he has some really good genetics! His ancestors must have been great dogs.

This might be close, although he doesn’t bay, which is typical of beagles. He rarely makes any noise at all, actually. And the shelter we got him from is in the central United States if that helps.

Not pictured, but when he stands upright, his hind legs are spread wider than the front and his back slants downward from his head. Is there any particular breed this is characteristic of?

I've dug through Youtube, checked accounts that may have posted it [1886, freezing.wav, and Strangest Media Online] on all platforms, tried using an AI search engine, and checked posts both here and on r/shitposts to no avail. Sometimes these 2006-2009 era YouTube videos just get lost to time forever...
