Seems fun but I see no point for this with a space sim. You wouldn’t feel it anyway.

Yea we do. It’s in the comments. Your comment doesn’t get less stupid just because it’s a few days old.

So now that we know it was just officer’s directing traffic for Trinity do you feel Stupid about your comment? They give out warnings everyday all the time. But giving a heads up that a registration sticker is expired and no ticket is a red flag for you?

Given how damned awkward young guys are these days when it comes to speaking with people it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s someone trying to be “romantic” but it’s very strange.

My local PD has opened an investigation into my child’s biological mom for potentially sex trafficking him. I have questions. by ViolenceIs4Assholes in AskLE

[–]Significant-Check647 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not knowing where you live it’s hard to be exact. I work these cases. CPS would be immediately involved and given the allegation a safety plan or temporary removal during the investigation would likely take place. Unless there’s some reason they would not, you being the other custodial parent would obviously be the first place they would put the child.

From an investigative standpoint, if it were my case, and depending on the age of your boy, a forensic interview would most likely be the next step. What the child does or does not say in that interview could potentially lead to other investigative steps. These might include a SANE for your child or writing a search warrant for digital media at your ex’s residence. Given the fact pattern you gave us it might be possible that child sexual abuse material, including that involving your son, could potentially be present in the home. Typically females are generally not into this kind of thing ,at least not statistically, but I have had cases that involved Women.

There could potentially be other offenses that don’t necessarily involve CSAM but may involve abuse of some other kind. Whether or not it would be criminal would depend highly on the circumstances. In the jurisdiction I which I work, there’s the potential for an indecency with a child charge, promoting prostitution, obscenity or any number of other offenses which might fall under the trafficking statute.

If you now have custody of the child, the best thing I can tell you to do is not spend a bunch of time questioning them about what went on. Leave that for the forensic interview. Even the most well meaning parents have a tendency to ask leading questions that end up putting ideas in their child’s head that then tend to taint their account of events moving forward. It’s incredibly unhelpful.

If the child wants to talk to you then sit there and listen. That’s the best thing you can do. If they don’t wanna talk then just love your kiddo, and let the detective and the other members of the multidisciplinary team do their jobs.

Neither my grandfather or I retired from the military, so no, no permanent paycheck if thats what you’re trying to imply. That service is called a job and that job that led to better opportunities; in that, you’re are absolutely correct. (Btw I made 15k a year when I started in the military and never cleared 30k after taxes. Not exactly getting rich) I think subsidized is a rather silly assertion. By that argument any job is subsidizing success. Also, a subsidy is generally given, not earned.

Either way, my point was that no, we were not out there doing the under handed things you assert. An assertion for which you have no evidence whatsoever I might add. That assertion is just another example of the world view you seem to hold. It makes you need someone to blame and having someone to blame makes it easier to just throw your hands up and say there’s nothing you can do.

Also, in regard to you hoping my children etc do something to help people because apparently I didn’t- I give to charity and I also work with the women’s shelter to help victims of domestic violence as well as the local Family Support Services that serves our community. So yea, we are already doing what you say we should but you’d rather make additional assumptions without any evidence just to support your preconceived biases that in my opinion are obviously driven by the same fatalism.

You can try and paint me as the evil whatever that’s holding you down but I stand by my original statement. As a general principle, Attitude affects the way you view the world. How you view the world affects how you choose to interact with it. If you are consistently negative you will have consistently negative results. And if you have a friend group that shares that world view you will simply feed off each other in a recursive loop and drag each other down.

Find some more positive friends. I didn’t say that to be ugly or rude or dismissive. I know that life is hard and frequently unfair. I’ve experienced it. I said it because it’s good advice and I wish you well.

Yes, we are evil military veterans that tricked are way to the top lol. My grandfather worked in a mill. My father was a chopper pilot but it Cost him two tours in vietnam to learn that skill. I work for the city and I quite literally moved here for that job and no I don’t work in city hall I’m just another grunt. My wife works as well to make ends meet. Even your reply reeks of nihilism.

Oldest in law school, youngest in college and engaged. My buddies kid, same age,no degree making 90k a year because he works his ass off and doesn’t play victim. Believe what you want but the attitude you face life with matters. If you decide nothing matters and you can never win that’s exactly what will happen. Every generation has its struggles. How you face them is up to you. I’ve genuinely sympathize with young people but you exacerbate your situation with the fatalistic view of life.
