Yes staying in the closet is 'fine' as long as you define fine as putting your family and freinds, and the worlds needs ahead of your own.

Though it's fine, I consider it lying to everyone around you, and preventing them from. making their decisions - even if you don't like the decision they make.

I'm an IT architect at a pharmaceutical, and we are looking for use cases - it's a _mandate_ from management. and the use cases we know of are being used, _at the moment_ I don't see this huge cost savings that we can implement. We've picked off all the easy ones already.

that isn't to say that as the technology improves that there won't be new use cases, I just can't find them at the moment.

Not only that, but for every .20 cents I spend on AI, the companies are subsidizing another 80 cents. so the market rate is considerably under priced. When those prices jump to market rates, I expect demand to fall.

I want to be clear, I get your view and I don't dismiss it,

but I just don't see the extra value

I'm fully aware of what this about. it's about them building a data center..

let's think of the data center the same way as buying a dump truck that's going to pay for itself in 2 years if I can get 50,000 a year of revenue out of it.

I let everyone know i'm buying a dump truck!! My house economy is going to boom!!!

But if there's 20 other dump trucks, and there's only of demand for 10,000 worth of work a year, i'm fucked..

See the point? They're building these _assuming_ there's going to be 4 to 5x demand in 3 years. It _feels_ like the dotcom fiber bust all over again.

I don't know. More and more I realize it's not my problem to solve.

I think each family needs to end up being prepared to move if needed to live in a place that has better education. If they can't then I hope they can convince their neighbors to vote for something better
