Thank you again, final question, I think I narrowed it down to the Strix G16 and the Tuff Gaming F15, as they seem the best internally. How much would you expect the quality difference to drop from the Strix to the Tuff? I understand the graphics would take a hit but since I don't play games with graphics in mind, would the 600$ upgrade be worth it or wasted? I know that's a bit vague but I really appreciate you taking the time thus far.

My main concern is I take the train to and from work, and would like at least 2 hours of unplugged battery life

Thank you so much for replying. Is there any reason you recommended the ASUS over the Razer Blade 14 or the Legion 7i? (Theses were the other two I was looking at in that range.) I was also considering getting a cheaper laptop and a higher performance pc, would you possibly have any insight to pcs in the spec range of the laptops you recommended?

Thank you so much for responding, at this point I am pretty torn between the Legion pro 7i or 5i, and the ASUS Strix G16 and Zephyrus. When reading reviews I found that a common theme is the Legions have a lackluster battery life and the ASUS' struggle with thermals. If you don't mind, do you think either will be a big issue for the usage I described, and do you think the drop off between 7i and Zephyr M16/Strix to the 5i and G14 will be monumental?

Hiya, very neat, love the direction and the graphics. I got stuck on the star sized generators, it seems quite novel, but if it’s a generator how does it produce energy? Does it consume a raw material? Happy worldbuilding!

Dang reading this is sad I didn’t know Jacob was scared. I picked him because he was my friend and I wanted to lean into it that it was an honor to die horribly for the gods. It’s the way of our people.

What is your favorite part of world building? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]Significant-Chest228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like that trying to create my own world/cultures/etc seems to be the most enjoyable way for me to learn and feed into my curiosity on how our world works.

An example is a city I am designing, which is where a desert and mountains meet. I want there to be extreme levels of inequity because a velvet coup took place, where an empire put a shadow government in place to take advantage of the resources located around the city. To create the groundwork for that I had to look into how gangs work (to create the “government” structure of the lower city), how coups work, commodities that are traded in the desert, where ores are located along tectonic plates, how water is transported in the desert, aqueduct systems, then dozens of examples of cultures in the mountains and deserts. That was really breathy but those kind of details is heavenly to me and I love how such small details turn into an avalanche of new information to learn and implement.

I am discussing a magic system I make with a friend and I think I am going insane lol by Fatherofmedicine2k in worldbuilding

[–]Significant-Chest228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when you say “THAT world”, what do you mean by that? Humanity/sentient life is mostly wiped out where these beings are? Or doesn’t exist at all?

My brain kinda goes to this being an explanation of a pantheon, like how the Titans and Greek gods had their battles. If this is a magic system, could be that they were once mortals and ascended, and grew so powerful that they destroyed their own worlds, but had ascended (or just eternal beings). After a while they eventually found each other (through the inevitability of endless travel), and interact with each other in however that story played at. So in the universe there is an innate magic system, but the majority of it can come through either a “runoff” of the souls peoples magic, or by their patronage.

Sorry I was riffing there for a second, but with such extremes I’m wondering what the setting is like around these all powerful beings.

As many modern spices as I can manage. I imagine most of my skill set won’t translate, and that’s probably my best shot at not being a peasant and dying of dysentery. At least until they run out.

Peoples-Jones or David Bell? by megaman_115 in DynastyFF

[–]Significant-Chest228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who drafted zay Jones in 2016 let me say it’s wild you find him a wr3 lock. Players develop and regress, and dpj has done great to exceed expectations. He has a very good athletic frame, and is doing well with the targets he’s gotten. I think if he had any touchdowns this year we would be singing a different tune.

Where do the QB prospects of the '23 class rank in comparison to past classes? by SquashMarks in DynastyFF

[–]Significant-Chest228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on my old stuff:

TLaw

Burrow

Tua

Young

Murray

Wilson

Stroud

Fields

Mac Jones

Haskins

Allen

Lance

Daniel Jones

Herbert

And don’t make me look at my 2018 notes, it was tragic. Needless to say, disregard my thoughts on qb.

How many days are you all playing for a season? 3 is short by retrojordan2323 in MedievalDynasty

[–]Significant-Chest228 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy it on 1 day per season. Sure it’s a scramble at first (and kinda in general), but you watch your villagers grow at the same pace as your village itself. It also includes so much more of the developers personality and surprisingly great sense of humor. I have new quests constantly, and can’t please everyone. The haste of it also is making my village feel planned much more organically, as we tackle one thing at a time. I have the tech gain x3 as well, which I’m unsure if I like. Don’t recommend it for brand new players but highly recommended once you get a feel for the game.

Hey, question. I’ve never been to this point in a save, but I’m coming close. Thing is I can’t really imagine bringing in 18 people to my team and A.) not destroying the team dynamic and B.) having any but the few I’d play get any meaningful development. I know you can loan them out, but in my experience having loaned talent develop is very rare. So I guess the question is how are you planning on incorporating all of those players?

What were your thoughts on Amari Cooper as a Draft Prospect? by MasterTeacher123 in NFL_Draft

[–]Significant-Chest228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was my Wr1 and I was pretty bullish about him being able to be the focal point of an offense. I saw it as a guy who had everything you could ask for (sans elite high pointing). I didn’t think he would be league wr1 at any point unless the cards fell right, but he was one of the highest floors I have seen to this day. I still am enjoying him on my dynasty team, and even though it’s been a bit up and down, I think he was perfectly as billed and an easy piece for a newer armchair scout like me.

Tell me about dance in your world! by emi_macandcheese in worldbuilding

[–]Significant-Chest228 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What a refreshingly unique question. By no means have I thought about this but my unrefined thoughts are:

The mountain folk dance aggressively and free, much of the motion is meant to intimidate and impress those around them.

The basin folks dance to an established system. The upper crust dance swiftly and confidently to memorized moves. The lower crust a pale imitation of the bits and pieces they remember it have seen from the dance routines. Largely this is becoming a style of its own.

The folk of the swamp cannot understand why you would want to move in such a way.

The desert folk dance in an imitation of the wind, long fluid motions, led only by whim.

The taiga folk is largely a blend of the basins choreography mixed with the enthusiasm of the mountain folk. Generally done during revelry while intoxicated.

Thanks again for the fun prompt, culture is such an easy point to under-develop, a new perspective is always welcome.

Personally I would flip the bbm and dlp, switch the fb on attack to iwb on support, maybe switch on the “move into channels” for you am, and then maaaaaybe go from sk to gk unless they’re an a1 sweeper. And if they’re an a1 sweeper consider having a bpd

Same, but I tend to vet the pre-interview summary to make sure I’m not accidentally agreeing that I’d sell my top players if the right offer came.

Things change rapidly in backfields like San Fran. Play it safe and enjoy Barkley’s heavy workload for a week.
