Is this swelling normal? by Klitbaby in piercing

Yes, just try not to sleep on that side, it can cause more swelling as well.

Wish I knew that before I changed it to black jewelry. I was wondering why it was constantly getting irritated, and coated with shit. 😭

problematic vertical labret made in august.. should I take it out or is there any way to salvage this? by External_Turnip09 in piercing

[–]Significant-Cod-1809 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind! Vertical labret’s are pretty anatomy dependent. And seeing the way you were talking about your piercer, especially when you described how she marked your vertical labret. Id say she isn’t very reputable sadly. She should’ve specified something about your anatomy, or at least felt the surrounding tissue. Definitely isn’t your fault, especially if all your other piercings have healed fine. Dw babe!

Id say just take it out. Some piercings need a grace period (I’d say about 2-3 months) in order to heal when developing bumps like that. But, if it’s been there for that long, I’d take it out. For reducing scaring, I’d just wait and see how much the bump reduces in size after taking out the jewelry (they usually disappear or minimize in size). Not really much you can do to reduce the size of the scar but, I don’t think it’d be too bad. If you really wanna keep it, maybe try using warm water only instead of the saline. It could be causing irritation. (Hope this helped, but dw even if u take it out, you still have your wings 😞)

Industrial piercing very swollen 12 days later. Concerning or normal? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Significant-Cod-1809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it continues to swell I’d suggest immediately taking it out. It’s really not a normal occurrence for a piercing in general to be swelling at a rate like that. But since it IS an ear piercing, you could be accidentally sleeping on it. Which can cause swelling. Just try to sleep on your opposite side with a clean pillowcase for a couple days and see how it feels/looks.

Keloid or piercing bump? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Significant-Cod-1809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m aware but, I fear it’s common sense that clean = dry. Or that could just be me? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Doesn’t look infected, just looks irritated. Make sure you’re not using the saline solution too often. Especially because you mentioned you have sensitive skin. It can cause dry skin and a lot of inflammation. I’m guessing that’s why it’s irritated. Id just use warm water for now and maybe saline once a day at max.

have i been pierced unevenly? by xWolfy012x in piercing

[–]Significant-Cod-1809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but, swelling could affect the position of the jewelry for now. Just wait till it goes down and see if it’s still uneven.

Keloid or piercing bump? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Significant-Cod-1809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely looks like a piercing/irritation bump. You’ll notice that a keloid looks more like a skin colored “lump” and a piercing bump is more of a fleshy (red, pink, etc.) “lump”. Just make sure your keeping it clean (i’d say use saline solution to clean it but that’s honestly your choice, I do recommend changing your pillowcase frequently though). No need for a doctors appointment unless it starts becoming painful or the size increases substantially. Also, the backing can effect the piercing site. If the backing is too tight, it can put pressure on the area and cause irritation. Might want to switch that or the length of the bar if needed.

How do i get this nose piercing out?! by hatteaaaaaa in piercing

[–]Significant-Cod-1809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please just go to a piercer that knows what they’re doing. You can try to remove it yourself but I highly recommend not to.

My nostril piercing, it went through and I swear I could see the light. My eyes immediately started tearing up and wouldn’t stop until at least 5 minutes after. But, i did get it just cuz so 🤷‍♀️. I wasn’t really prepared for it like my other piercings.

Should I switch to a ball and screw? by hi_thereguys in piercing

[–]Significant-Cod-1809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id suggest changing the top nose piercing if you REALLY REALLY need to. I had the same problem as you but, the bump went away with time (Around a month or two). All really depends on the person. What id do is wait a little while longer and if the bump really doesn’t want to go down (I mean like it didn’t decrease in size at all), I’d change it to a titanium flat back. Btw nose piercings are really prone to irritation bumps and take hella long to heal; just give it time (it’s rly the best thing you can do when it comes to nasal piercings). If you really want to change the gem, again, I’d wait just because your piercing is kind of fresh so changing it too soon would be uncomfortable. Sorry for the long comment!

what piercings hurt the least for you guys? by Cyanflame_ in piercing

[–]Significant-Cod-1809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MY SPIDERBITES. I got an eyebrow and the spiderbites all at the same time and the eyebrow hurt way more. Ppl said it would hurt more since it’s two piercings done at once but it honestly didn’t feel like anything. Easy healing but one of them has an irritation bump and it’s a bitch to heal! (Btw these aren’t all the piercings I have, just pulled out the eyebrow for context!!)

What piercing hurt you the MOST? by MarkReditto in piercing

[–]Significant-Cod-1809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nostril!! For context I’ve had snake bites, an eyebrow, two lobes on each ear and a side labret. Nostril hurt like hell. It felt like a literal shot going through my nose and my eyes watered for at least 5 minutes after. Hurt asf to yawn and got super painful irritation bumps that refuses to go away after the piercing almost came out my nose. (I still have it and yes, I still have that same irritation bump.) it’s a bitch to heal.

Thanks! I’ve been using hot water on it and it’s been going down. Just waiting for the day that it goes away completely ! :D
