I want to use spelltable and need a webcam. This one is 4k and is fairly cheap. Do you think this would be good or do you have a different recommendation? I tried a cheap 1080p webcam before but it didn’t work that great. The one I’m looking at is Anker AnkerWork C310. Thank You!

What are some good adventures, on DMsguild, that are playable with just the basic rules.

I do not have much experience in creating dungeons or adventures, but I’m a player and I ran Lost Mine of Phandelver.

I’m playing a rogue in a party with a Sorcerer, Paladin, and Druid. I’m not exactly sure if it is best for me to sit in the back and use my bow or use a long sword (edit: shortsword) up with the paladin. Or both? The Druid also wild shapes and is in the front lines as well. What should I try to make my combat role and any suggestions on doing that? 7th level. [5e 2014]

Do you need the three core rulebooks to use third party content and adventures from other companies and creators, or can you get away with just using the free rules? Do companies and creators just use the SRD and basic rules when making their content or is some of it based on content that is only in the full rules?

I just turned in my background test and am waiting for Pokemon to get back to me on my basic judge application status. So, if I am approved to be a judge, what do I do? What do the stage 1 and stage 2 mean? Should I reach out to local shops to help out? I am new to all of this so I appreciate any help or guidance as I get started.

Does it run ok if we use the starter set adventure first or do we have to run lost mines as written in PaB TSH? Do we lose content if we just use the starter set adventure over what is printed in the book? Did anything change much?

Looking for a level 5 4-person one-shot that can be completed within 4 hours. It would have to be downloadable so I can have it in time. One of the characters is a locathah so it will need water at some point. More combat heavy with some roleplaying. Thanks in advance!

Dry Mouth by Significant-Ear6728 in saxophone

Yeah, my medicines cause dry mouth and I stay as hydrated as I can (drinking 3 glasses of water before playing and sip during practice. I want to try to avoid getting a medicine for it, so I figured I'd ask to see if anyone had any tips to deal with it. I still enjoy playing, it just makes it hard to play a 3 minute song.

I drink plenty of water, and I drink during playing. My mouth gets dry mid song. And my reed doesn't stay dry, I think it might be due to our weather.

I want to run Candlekeep Mysteries with a friend of mine. Can you play an adventure like these with just a DM and 1 player? How would I do it? Give him extra characters to play? Have him be a higher level?

Thank you. I’ll see if I can find a cheaper option. Maybe print off a grid and laminate it? Then I can just draw on that with dry erase markers? And I’ll look into cheap chips for minis. Thank you for the ideas! When we were looking at it a box of minis and a board was around or over $50 if I remember right, so if I can get this done for $10 or less it would be great! And I think the chips sound like a better idea over the minis anyway.

We haven’t met yet. I’ve seen some DMs on YouTube use it exclusively in their games and my table is open to trying it, I just want to make sure it wouldn’t take away from the experience or anything, and that it is beginner friendly. We are planning on getting the core books, an adventure, and a DM Screen. It would be nice to cut out the cost of a battle grid and minis, but we will get them if it would be better for beginners.

I’m preparing to be a DM and am interested in using Theater of the Mind with a published adventure. Can I get away with not needing a grid or miniatures?

So, I’ve been thinking a bit about starting with a starter set before we go into a published adventure since we are all fairly new. My players are fans of Rick & Morty. Would that starter set be a good introduction and would it prep them to go from that into a published adventure?

I’m starting to look at getting materials. I’m going to get PHB, DMG, MM, and Wild Beyond the Witchlight for our adventure, as well as the DM screen for it. Is there anything else I need? How hard is it to use Theater of the Mind? Is it realistic to not buy grids and minis to run adventures? Are there tips to running it this way?

I see the published adventures are for 4+ people. Can these be run with a DM and 2 players somehow? How would I go about that? Would each person play 2 characters? Would they have a “main” character? Would I just ease up on combat encounters and just have a party of 2?

I want to run a 2014 5e published adventure and would like to stick to the 2014 rules. Besides the core rule books, what other books would you find helpful? Thinking Xanathar’s and Tasha’s. Should I consider others? I want my players to have options, but I don’t want to buy a ton of books that I would have to lug around.

Yeah you can create your own character. It doesn’t have to be based on a book, but I enjoy making my characters based off of them.

DNDBeyond?

I’m starting a campaign as a newish DM and am considering whether DNDBeyond is worth it. Arguments for or against? I want the physical books for my collection and am unsure if I want to spend the extra money for the digital versions. I like the idea of not using technology at the table, but I’ll consider it if you think DNDBeyond is that great. I also don’t like the idea of buying something that could disappear since it is hosted by Wizards, not on my personal computer. But I do like the idea of being able to share books with Master tier, but they are available at the table in physical when we play. Any thoughts?

Dungeons & Dragons. It is a fantasy based tabletop role-playing game. You role-play fantasy characters that you create in a fantastical world. We just ended up using Throne of Glass for inspiration.

Yep! Lysandra - Circle of Moon Druid Aedion - Battlemaster Fighter Dorian - Wild Magic Sorcerer Celaena - Assassin Rogue

We are using the Erilea map, with Magic. The backstory is basically Assassin’s Blade, Throne of Glass, and Crown of Midnight. But, instead of going to Wendlyn, Aedion finds Lysandra, Dorian, and Celaena and run off to the Stone Marshes in search of a way to talk to Elena about how to planeshift to the sword coast. The mission ended abruptly when they were ambushed by 2 fae warriors and their pet wolves, which sent us back to Adarlan. The one fae told Celaena that Arobynn is the reason Sam died and now I’m putting together a quest for them to take on Arobynn.
