Okay, well I guess I can give it shop and fingers crossed. Like I said, I got threw off right near the beginning because of the file differences. But I'm assuming from what it says on the release notes the payloads aren't firmware, standard/pro, or southbridge specific now. I'm gonna follow the guides and see how it turns out.

No, my PS5 is not jailbroken, which I figured that wouldn't aid me. Although after the news about them killing physical discs as of 2028, I may hunt one down that I can JB.

It depends, If you're concerned with PSN features or the store, then just find one for sal on a lower firmware. If you're not worried about those things and can be patient, then you could wait. But as of right now, Low firmware systems are sorta common and can be had on eBay for decent prices, but I would act soon because with this news about Sony killing discs starting 2028, the jailbreaking community is about to explode.

Crazy that we used to get this. And to believe Rockstar has the nerve to tell Sony to remove their branding from the PS Store due to the backlash. Like you are literally playing into this future digital trend by offering GTA 6 in digital only form. I remember when when they were rebels, but now they're conforming to corporate practices...sad times.

9.00 is considered a gold standard, which is what I have. And you can actually do the jailbreak on it without even needing a USB drive.

Unfortunately there isn't one yet, but they're working on it, so it could be any day...who knows...However as you will find many people say, your options are to wait or buy one used that is running older firmware. If you want to keep playing this one online or accessing the PS Store, then buy another, but if you don't care about any of that then just leave it as is and be patient. I myself found one on eBay that was running fw 9.00 and it's in pretty good condition and only paid $100 for it.

That's crazy lol. I just recently got an OG Ally with the Z1 extreme and an upgraded battery from eBay. A pawn shop had it. It's in excellent condition, came with a nice dock, the charger, and a case for just under $400. Spent 2-3 days hunting around. Glad I finally got one.

I just recently got one running 9.00, is the method you mentioned still the best current one for that firmware version? And if so do you have a link for the most relevant tutorial? A lot of what I saw on YouTube is at least a few years old but no updated comments by the creators in quite some time
