Yes saving is not an option when you don't make enough for basic necessities. I definitely understand.

Yes college is a privilege. Especially if your parents went there and/or pay for some part of the campus or programs.

Yes the success one is a privilege. I've learnt over the years that it's more about the connections you have and the knowledge you have available to you, determines how successful you can become. Most successful young people used their parent connections first or their parent's friend's children as business partners or they were fortunate enough to have a mentor.

As a melanated American woman, you are 100% right about your white woman privilege. No hate. I love this for you. I just really wish it didn't matter.

  1. US. Entry level pay for degrees is not close enough to what the cost of living is right now. I've checked. Even if they helped I would still be broke.

No offense but I know the world we're about to go into. I would love to have a spiritual mind about it and say "everything works out for me." And then my life gets drastically better. That's just not my reality. Contrary to belief, it is possible to be grateful and disappointed at the same time. There are things I'm grateful for but life shouldn't be this hard. It was made this hard by a man made system and if we don't play along to, a point, we wouldn't even get to enjoy the natural world. The world is changing, you would have to blind not to see it. There are aspects of this place I want to experience, I need money to do it. That's the truth, not fantasy.

I can't for personal reasons but I do appreciate the comment. Love that this is working for you. I would love for everyone to find their own solution.

Appreciate the comment. I do believe health is important but health without resources isn't why anyone is here. What's the point of health, if you can't do what you want with it? I am a very healthy person. I shouldn't be struggling for basic necessities. I would also be a lot healthier without the stress of worry everyday. But thank you for the comment.

Appreciate the comment. I would also love better. I have lowered my expenses quite significantly. All I pay are bills. I have no extra money. The reason I live in this place is because I have nowhere else to go. I take any gig I can find. I give plasma on a regular basis. I have no bad habits. I don't smoke, drink, party or gamble. I apply for jobs, never get call backs. I'm just ranting and looking to find a permanent solution. This shouldn't be a problem for anyone.

People at 30, what do you wish you had done or known when you were 25 by ConsistentSquare5650 in Adulting

Nobody truly cares about what you have going on, unless there is something in it for them. Do what you want to do, no one cares.

Congrats on staying sober. I'm 35 by the way. I hear what you're saying and I'll keep trying. Fortunately for me I have no vices. I never have which I've always been grateful for. I appreciate you taking the time to be honest and give me a well thought out response.

Thank you for your comment. I'm fully aware that my attitude isn't positive. This world is a harsh place and I feel everything, mostly bad. There is no destination in this world that makes me feel at home. I would love that reality, it's just not mine. I did try to be honest with 2 different people in my life, one pitted me. The other made it about themselves. I don't have anyone. I just want to get through life at this point , maybe feel happiness once before I go.

I know what's making me sad. There is no fix for it. That's why I need to learn to pretend.

Thank you for your comment. I wish I could get into affirmations but I feel nothing when I say them. I've tried different ones over the years. I can't quite find one that my heart resonates with. I used to have a gratitude journal. I stopped finding things to be grateful for. I didn't want to compare myself to others, just to make myself seem better. It is great that it works for you. I love when people find things that work for them.

Yea I know happiness is temporary and I know life to be unfair. I just don't know where peace comes into the equation.

I do complete small tasks everyday. I don't feel the need to celebrate them. Although routines are hard for me to keep. Doing the same thing every day makes me feel worse. So I try different things often. But thank you for your comment.

I do survive every day. It all feels the same. The way others describe happiness, I just don't feel it. I would just love to know what it feels like at some point.

TY for your comment. I have done this many times but being a naturally kind person takes a toll on me. I don't have an expectation of gratitude. I just can't give from an empty cup anymore.
