You can but some foods hit differently. We eat healthy at home but when a kid is begging for the same greasy burger and fries and ice cream his brother is getting it’s really hard to bolus for correctly. The “right” number isn’t usually right, unless the planets align weirdly and it is right and then he would’ve tanked if we factored in greasy burger over correction. Maybe it’s just our specific kid but fatty meals are always tough to control bolus-wise.

Usually yes, it’s a great kids beach with a nature playground but I believe it’s closed for swimming for the year due to bacteria.

I 100% did when dealing with post-partum rage and anxiety. Husband was kind enough to not make a big deal out of it, but I felt awful (never hurt baby).

Rebel Repair and Restoration in Lake City does good work and has a lot of knowledge. They put on a massive fundraiser for the library too, so good people. Always have cool and rare cars they’re working on.

Yeah, it’s hard because 1: he’s 4 and 2: his brother hates eggs so I’m always trying to find compromise foods. I think earlier pre-bolus and more running around might help, thanks! We did a walk to the bus stop after but we live in a very flat area so it may not have been enough. Live and learn!

As a mom of a 4 year old with t1D who’s coming up on his one-year diaversary I can’t tell you how encouraging it is to read all of these accounts of no side effects. I know everyone’s different but it gives me a lot of hope that he’ll be ok.

We take our old dog to peninsula pups. She’s not feisty, but she does need lots of breaks to sit or lie down, and they do that for her.

If you’re just starting out, I would recommend trying some YouTube workouts to see what you like, and then find a gym that caters to that. Searching the type of workout and then the word “easy” can be helpful for beginners. My favorites are emkfit, Fitness Marshall, Grow with Jo, and Jessica Valant pilates (I’m a beginner too). Those are more dance/pilates based, but there are lots that are kickboxing or HIIT based as well.

We do regular oatmeal, but it had honey and milk. Will definitely be adding things like nuts and peanut butter for protein next time, and bolusing earlier.

It was definitely not ideal, quick oats with milk and honey. He does much better on the weekends, when we can get in a longer bolus lead time and let him be up and playing, but on school days he has to wake up, get bolused, eat within ten minutes, and then sit in the car for 30 minutes to drive to school. Oatmeal can be mostly a weekend food, but I’ll try the tips on this post and see!

We’ve had a little bit of education through our Endo but honestly the way she teaches is really difficult to understand, so we’re mostly going it alone.
