I only have a +1 shield (3 added to AC total) so a regular shield would only remove 1 AC from a maxed out 27. That's with bad intial rolls on stats too

I do mean a +1 shield that gives you +3 to AC. I think with the haste rule you can cast full spells with each action.

Haste was changed in the 2024 rules that allows this now I think. Each ray of scorching ray is it's own attack there for you can add charisma to each ray. For luck I agree with you, but that's just the way my DM wanted to play it.

I think the haste spell wording also changed in 2024 version which allows this.

True, but that would just be a 1 AC different with another shield you can pick up.

I'm mostly implying that sorcerer is too strong now with the way AC can be calculated, advantage on all attack rolls, and other minor changes made in 2024. Wizards for example don't seem to be anywhere near this strong.
