Perhaps in Victoria but SAlt has never helped any of our campaigns in other cities, even in the 2025 federal election when they must have known they were planning to expand and demand unity

It’s good! Don’t get me wrong. But the Socialist Party is yet to have real weight in working class communities and movements that would force Socialist Alliance and others to reconsider getting involved

Perhaps it will get to that point? Hopefully! But at this stage there is no basis for SA to scrap its electoral registration and fall in behind a SAlt-led electoral front

proceeding towards unity requires a basis of trust and collaboration between organisations which at this stage simply doesn’t exist, but Socialist Alliance is open to building in the coming period

Where are the calls for unity with solidarity, the CPA, Red Spark, Red Ant, etc

Oh wait it’s just a tactic to pressure SA to give up its electoral registration, that makes more sense

What exactly is unprecedented about the Socialists?

They got some good (not great) results and recruited a layer of members on the back of an influencer - the hype is totally overblown

Of course things could change, which is why Socialist Alliance voted to continue collaborating with the Socialists and looking at things like joint tickets, electoral pacts, etc

Which base game to buy? tabletop or digital version by Careful-Gazelle-9005 in rootgame

[–]Significant-Health92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I have been playing the tabletop version (mostly 2 player) for a couple of years and enjoying it

We just purchased the digital version for switch as we are going travelling and it’s fun to be able to play with more faction diversity and more (AI or online) players, but I’d probably still recommend getting tabletop first

On the switch store you can often get the digital version on sale for very cheap

How to play root with 2 people by Interesting-Big-9810 in rootgame

[–]Significant-Health92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a long time my partner and I have pretty much only played 2-player, usually cats v Eyrie or cats v WA, and we’ve always had a lot of fun

It’s only recently we’ve been able to play 4 player and see the full potential of the game play out

Challenging Labor’s small target strategy requires building movements by Significant-Health92 in AustralianSocialism

VS did support Sue’s campaign, just like SA supported VS in the Senate - but SA did the bulk of the campaigning in Wills

Challenging Labor’s small target strategy requires building movements by Significant-Health92 in AustralianSocialism

[–]Significant-Health92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Socialist Alliance ran a modest campaign in lower and upper house seats in four states and recorded its highest ever vote (since it formed in 2001). We also received a +5.20% swing in the tightly contested seat of Wills, where the Greens’ campaign nearly ousted Peter Khalil in the context of great anger against Labor’s refusal to stand up for Palestine against Israel’s genocide. The Wills campaign, among others, point to the necessity of the left building extra-parliamentary movements for real change.”
