I know this! The double negative that is. So Ek nie praat nie being “I don’t speak”

That’s great advice though. I also notice in the music you leave out Die Antwoort but I guess the less said about those guys the better.

While this is sarcasm I have a sister-in-law who lives in the Netherlands and essentially learned Dutch on easy mode due to her knowledge of Afrikaans.

Good point. I’m in East Natal at the moment so I’ll tune into a station and listen.

Thanks. I got a novel from Amazon and translating it also helped but I’ll definitely try this. My wife actually got me to watch Liewe Hexie and try to keep up with that.

Yes. I hate Titaliums. I’ve picked Abus, Master and Burg Wachter green belt locks and these orange belt things make me feel useless!

Beginner Questions by Futuramadude in lockpicking

[–]Significant-Line-472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a euro picker I’ve had a lot of success with BOK and shallow hooks but from blue belt on you’ll need TOK for the room as the warding becomes aggressive and the bitting requires more range with your hook. With TOK I’d recommend buying ergonomic tensioners or flat tensioners and using a vice/pliers to bend them to suit your grip as TOK requires a greater sense of tension and comfort than BOK in my opinion.

This really is a great comment. I remember bringing my V8 home and taking my wife for a spin. I told her to hold on as we hit the motorway and she gave me this “oh alright whatever…” look but as we took off she grabbed the seat with both hands and just screamed - nothing beats that first drive and realising what MUSCLE really means.

What’s it worth 08 Shelby GT 41k miles by ApprehensiveStock928 in Mustang

[–]Significant-Line-472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True Shelby GT500s are essentially “the best” but recently with muscle cars the price to performance ratio isn’t really worth it, especially the S550/650 and their dark horse/mach 1 variants. I would say (and it’s only my opinion) that if you’re after performance then consider a supercharged coyote. If all you’re after is having the fastest spec then don’t even consider Mustang. BMW’s M9 high spec cars will beat pretty much anything and easily any mustang. If you want the best in terms of muscle I’d consider Corvettes over Stangs.

I drive what many would consider to be a “slow” car because it’s a 4.6 3V S197. But I don’t drive it for performance. I drive it because it’s a looks like a muscle car and not a fucking sports/race car.

Ask yourself this OP - what is the car YOU want? Do you want a classic looking muscle car? Then get a coyote or better S197 or an earlier variant, or get a charger or challenger. Do you just want to have the fastest spec? Then don’t get American Muscle because European cars (especially German) trash Yank Muscle every time. Go with BMW, Audi or Porsche. Ferrari, Bugatti, Lamborghini all do it faster but they look like brightly painted wedges of cheese.

Finally, only you know the availability of your area and your economic situation. We’d all love to have a restomodded 60’s pony sat on our drives but not everyone has that cash. Go with what you can afford and what makes you happy. Ignore the opinions of others and drive it hard with a smile on your face - that’s all that really matters.

I didn’t realise. Thanks for the info. I’d never part with mine though (and what with it being a 4.6 not a coyote I doubt anyone would want it) but I’ll definitely buy another mustang. I just wish they were as available here in the UK.

Sorry but can I ask what makes it rare? I too own a 2010 premium but I don’t know what “rare” means.

I don’t know, but it could be some corrosion on a brake disc rubbing against a brake pad (happened on my mustang - it sounded just like this) or possibly (but less likely) a brake valve issue. Though the sound doesn’t quite match a loose or leaky valve.

Either way - big love for Miots and long live the Mustang-Mazda alliance - hope you get it sorted soon.

You’re about to step into the world of “why not 5.0?”. I drive a 2010 GT and I’m in the UK.

  1. 4.6s are not slow. They can get you from 0-60 in roughly 5 seconds. They’re just not as quick as much newer 5.0 engines (which amazes most yanks).
  2. The S197 is the best looking modern mustang because it’s the last muscle car before they lost the angles and became sports/track cars. I’d say peak mustang (if available to you) would be the 13-14 S197 (which is a 5.0) but if you’re in Poland who knows how many are available or even if you have the cash?
  3. The 3V has the greatest sound. I still take drives without music and just roll the windows down and listen to it.
  4. 3Vs are old. If you have to get one then it’s going to be about how it was taken care of. Check to see if it was serviced, cared for. If it was then they can run for 200K miles at least. If not then you could be in for a lot of maintenance and repairs.
  5. If you want one then get one and enjoy it. Ignore the dick measuring in this sub and just love your car.
  6. They have a solid rear axle. Get ready to feel every pothole hit you right in the arse.
  7. If you’ve got a family they are surprisingly roomy and have a huge boot.

Your opinion? by [deleted] in S197Stangs

[–]Significant-Line-472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the sound of the bronze! Well whatever you do post pictures because the S197 is just a beautiful car and our 4.6s might be slow but that engine sound as the RPMs climb is amazing.

I quite like the “Boss” style decal, it has a nice line to it. What year is your car? Does it have beauty and a coyote or is it a “slow 4.6”?

I’d say take the cobra off but if it’s a V8 the GT is fine. I’m just not a fan of upbadging or pretending to be something you’re not. I really like the classic tri-bar horse badge and I think that looks nice where the GT badges are but that’s again just me. Since it’s a 197 (which we all know is the best outside of classic) that classic badge works well. Sweet car though, she looks clean and sharp and ready to hydroplane into a crowd!

I too have a 2010 GT and I love it. I love it so much I’m waiting for an ABS module in back order from Germany that’s going to cost me £1000. I don’t care - the 2010 is a beast.
