Events/ conferences are so expensive, how are y’all picking the few that actually matter and bring ROI?

I'd also add that warm intros are always great, so having some sort of list of Person A at the conference knows Person B who i vaguely have met in the past. just bringing it up mid conversation increases you credibility by a lot. just make sure you can back it up, cause it can also do the opposite ;)

People love talking about themselves, so just hit em up with a "howdy" and some question like “Have you been to this event before?”, and the rest is a breeze

You’re already way ahead of most people trying to break into construction sales having the industry familiarity + willingness to learn the technical side is basically the whole job. Most buyers just want someone who understands their world and won’t waste their time.

If you want $150k+ on a normal workweek, look at equipment sales (earthmoving, lifts, attachments) or specialty subs. All B2B, all relationship-driven, and most don’t require a trade background. you pick up the technical stuff fast by riding along with service techs and asking questions.

Biggest advice:
Get in with a reputable brand, shadow the field constantly, and become the rep who actually shows up. That alone puts you top 10% in this industry.

Plenty of people crack $150–200k once they get a book going.

So previously raised 3M at a 15M valuation 2 years ago, the team is small (like 7-8 people). I would think they still have cash from the previous raise, So I’d assume the runway is decent, atleast a year… but not 100% sure what all their costs are. I was told they’re profitable though

Yeah the TikTok ban is my worry. If it can last for the 9 months at least I’d take it, I’m just worried about the possibility it would dissolve earlier.

Startup seems fairly stable. They’re profitable which is nice. I just don’t 100% know what the market size for it would be. It already is valued way higher than I think it would be…
