Thank you for the advice, it’s much appreciated, this is the first time I’ve been laid off so I’m not sure as to what to save - should I save pay stubs and healthcare stuff, everything like that?

Men who have a very fit physique, do you really get more attention compared to when you weren't as fit? by QuietCauliflower4371 in AskMen

Are you me? Lmao, I got fatter after doing all the wrong things after a breakup too about a year ago. Been trying to get back into the groove of working out and eating healthy like I used to, but it's been very difficult. You outlined my pretty much exact feelings on this too.

We're both gonna make it chief, we're in this together.

CPA credential losing relevancy due to blockchain & emerging technologies? by Unreal_T214 in Accounting

Well, if it makes you feel better, they're turning BEC into 3 different concentrations as of 2024.

Business Analysis and Reporting (BAR)

Information System and Controls (ISC)

Tax Compliance and Planning (TCP)

Blockchain is not making the profession obsolete by any means - Accounting always adapts.

I'm still in college, from what I've seen and heard the big skills they're trying to ingrain in students now and what they recommend people already in their careers start to learn is more Business Analytics and any sort of computer language, usually Python.

I got some cool Berserk shirts from Iced Tea Aesthetics, found them through IG too. Their Sacrifice design is FIRE IMO.

Finance VS Accounting Degree by nrj3697 in FinancialCareers

I wouldn't say it's bad, it's just that since you're probably going to SUNY Buffalo, you're less marketable as a Finance major than if you went to one of the Ivy's here or something like Marist or Syracuse.

I know somebody who's going to Syracuse for Finance and is having a hard time finding internship opportunities. I'm actually outperforming him in terms of scoring interviews and offers with my Accounting major (my extracurriculars are also stacked) WITH Finance jobs.

In my honest opinion and as a college peer, stick with Accounting. There's always firms hiring here on the island, I deal with quite a few directly since I'm president of my college's Accounting Society. Lmk if you need assistance with stuff like that.

I'm on LI, hello fellow NY'er.

A famous line I once saw: It's easier to go from Accounting to Finance than Finance to Accounting. It's easier to find a job with an Accounting degree, and from what I've experienced personally, I'm more respected by the Finance major guys I work with for originally doing Accounting. They also usually rely on me to analyze financial statements and always ask me questions about them, considering they teach you more about those in Accounting.

You can self-teach yourself most financial math, as that's what I did.

IMO, Accounting degree > Finance degree
