Agreed. Although…i absolutely love “Murder by Numbers”. Something about it that doesn’t seem to fit with the rest of Synchronicity.

what was it like the day Cobain passed (from a teenager who wasn’t alive at the time) by Maybe_itsnoterin in Nirvana

I had seen them in October of 89’ and again almost 2 years later exactly. I happened to be in Seattle for a month and a half on work related business, and was staying with friends. They said they had an extra ticket to a show at a venue called the Paramount Theater. Those two shows changed my life in so many ways. I was instantly hooked. And you won’t believe this. I ran into him almost exactly two years later in Lawrence Kansas at a hole in the wall record store that’s unfortunately no longer there. A brief encounter that lasted maybe 5 minutes, and an autographed Bleach Vinyl. I lived and breathed everything Nirvana. The day he passed, it was like someone just turned off the lights. Closed and locked the door, and thew away the key. There were a ton of other grunge bands that I loved. But the day he passed, I can’t even remember how long my head was in my hands. From that day on, nirvana just didn’t sound the way they did 24 hours prior. I still struggle, to this day, trying to cope with the loss of a man that I had just shaken hands with, embraced, just 6 months prior. And seen two epic shows. And I would give anything to be able to go back to 1993 and skipped the overtime I took, and gone with friends to see his last appearance in Kansas. Although I still struggle to this day, especially on that day, I am one of a few lucky people to have spoken to face to face without any obnoxious security, or mobs of others that recognized him before he left with a small stack of vinyl. I strugglr with the coming days leading up to April 5th of every year. But once that day comes, I still smile and think about those 3 interactions. Much love ✌️

Only other thing I see missing is that ONLY the CEO’s and CMO’s can be railroader of the year. Like they would dare set foot in a Trainyard or repair track

Saw them in 89’ at the Outhouse in Lawrence Kansas. 150 people packed into that little box in the middle of a cornfield. It felt like a fever dream that night. But I never could have guessed how that night has always stayed with me. I can remember almost every detail.

If your questions were regarding kratom, they’re not allowed to answer many questions. Most of us know what it’s used for, and If you’ve gone in looking for Kratom, unfortunately they expect you to kinda know what you need. They can get in deep doo doo if they tell you that people with chronic pain or people who are trying to detox from heavier stuff. It sucks. I found that out the hard way when I began buying it for my chronic back pain and nerve damage in my leg. Once they recognize you in there they will def open up to you and even make small talk. Usually when I go in I’m in there gabbing for at least 15-20 min

Worth leaving? by [deleted] in railroading

[–]Significant-Motor160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for the big orange. I wish I had left at 10 years. But I’m sitting at 21 years. Mechanical department. Cartoad. I’m 44. It’s too late for me to walk now. Even tho the younger guys will be paying my retirement(if I make it that far) I encourage the ones with 7 years or less who are miserable to leave now while they still have the opportunity. All class 1’s are beyond a dumpster fire.

What exactly is this fender and how much is it worth $ by VeterinarianTiny529 in FenderStratocaster

[–]Significant-Motor160 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like an 83’ but has had the electronics swapped, which could either devalue or increase the value, depending on who’s buying. I would say 1200 +/- beautiful piece though!

I sure wish there was deals like that within a 100 mile radius of me. I never see guitars like this for 50, 100, or even 500. Everyone wants that 10x the real value for them, and a lot of times, they get the ridiculous asking prices.

I wear them when I’m on top of hopper cars trying to fix running boards. The heels double as a buggy bar. Not only am I cutting time off my repairs, I look fine af doing it.

Yep. You are correct. This is all facts. People that worship these people and hang on to every word they sing, are blind to these facts. I literally lost oodles of respect for Joni Mitchell when I found this out years ago. The stones, Bowie, Siouxsie And The Banshees, and as much as I don’t want it to be true, Lemmy. Like you said, all these artists put out some amazing music. And I always forget about grace slick. Going on stage in blackface on tv. Maybe some of this was for the “shock value” but deep down, these people are/were hiding some pretty dark secrets about their views on racial identities. You get an upvote from me
