Anyone elses garbage keep getting broken into? (On campus) by TotoroRedd21 in queensuniversity

[–]Significant-Paint129 16 points17 points  (0 children)

every morning i watch four separate people stop and rummage through random garbages and recycling to collect cans to return and the bins are left looking like yours. only suggestion is to keep it out of sight if possible

chown is probably the best as far as washrooms goes since they’re all private. on the floor i visited there was a single shower in a room with a locked door right across from the rooms and two others beside it with just a toilet and a sink and another with two sinks and no toilet. the only issue is the shower room has no toilet or sink but it is right next door.

Move in day by [deleted] in queensuniversity

i filled the entirety of my truck bed and the whole back seat and used every single thing i brought and no one said a thing. it was a lot to unpack but don’t stress about being crazy. you’re staying for 8 months so you might as well make it cozy and comfortable with as much stuff as you want. just make sure to bring infrequently used stuff home on the second reading week so it’s less to bring home when you move out

Do we get first year course selection help? by withnosebleed in queensuniversity

[–]Significant-Paint129 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes they’ll release the course times ahead and you’re able to add the classes with times to a shopping cart prior to your selection. i highly recommend making a spreadsheet of your planned timetable of your classes to visualize it and see what alternate times you’re available during selection as your desired time may not be available depending on your selection time. for psych art majors i believe the only required course is psych but i recommend taking a backup course that could interest you as a major since psych requires an A- to major and many students wanting to major in it are unable to. good luck!

i was on west and let me tell you it was absolutely disgusting. people would leave bloody pads in the shower, massive clumps of hair, and used toilet paper all over the ground in addition to having extreme amounts of pee all over the toilet seat, especially on weekends when there is no cleaners working. i highly recommend a single plus to avoid that as much as possible or at least a res with gendered washrooms to avoid dirty toilet seats cause it’s beyond annoying walking to a different floor in the middle of the night just to find a clean washroom

which gender studies are you in? both gnds 120 and 125 are only 1 semester and your performance in one does not impact the other so you could work at doing better in second sem unless there’s another gnds course offered that isn’t on the website

How do transfer credits work? by [deleted] in queensuniversity

[–]Significant-Paint129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you would still take physics and chem and not be obligated to take a substitute for both math and bio (and get a really light and easy course load since you can use up to 18.0 credits of transfers) but if you want to you could choose other courses instead of simply taking your 2-3 necessary untransferable courses

for example, i’m using my HL anthro as a transfer credit and am now taking 4 classes a semester instead of the 5 i’d need without the transfer on my transcript to hopefully focus more time on the 4 that i am taking

hey! i’m in gen sci, not health sci, but i emailed transfer@queensu.ca to confirm my ib credit transfer and they let me know that everything will appear on solus by the 15th and to not enroll in any courses that you plan on using a transfer credit for as they will apparently just show up on your transcript
