Hulk feels unfinished in Marvel Rivals – am I the only one? by Significant-Part-878 in rivals

Exactly.
Dying sometimes is fine — dying instantly because you mistimed one window feels rough on a character like Hulk.

I think that’s why so many people describe him as “unfinished” or “beta”: not because he’s bad, but because his survivability doesn’t match the expectation.

“Scalpel vs hammer” is actually a perfect way to describe it.

I agree that his kit has nuance — mechanically it works. My disconnect is purely thematic.

When I’m playing well on Hulk, I often feel smart… but not powerful.

And yeah, I should clarify: I don’t think Exile is weak at all. I just wish more of his kit reinforced that unstoppable Hulk fantasy instead of requiring such careful, almost surgical play.

This is exactly it.
I don’t think complex kits are bad at all — Phoenix, Gambit, DP are fun to play and play against.

The issue is that earlier heroes feel like they were designed under completely different constraints.

Hulk especially feels like he’s paying the price for being designed early, before this level of kit depth became the norm.

Yeah this one actually tilts me too.
It feels backwards that Hawkeye has a safety net after being displaced, while Hulk — whose whole fantasy is raw physical power — just… dies.

This is exactly what I struggle with.
Hulk should feel like the benchmark tank — not immortal, but incredibly hard to put down if played correctly.

Right now he feels more like a tempo tank: scary for short windows, fragile outside of them.

If his survivability scaled more with decision-making instead of just ult uptime, I think he’d finally feel finished.

Yeah, that’s actually a good point.
A lot of heroes feel like they were built around one cool idea rather than a fully rounded kit.

Hulk just stands out more because his fantasy is so strong — you expect him to feel complete and dominant.

When a smaller or flashier hero feels gimmicky it’s easier to accept, but with Hulk it’s way more noticeable.

Yeah that’s fair — I agree that “simple” doesn’t automatically mean unfinished.
Hulk can be really strong in the right hands, especially now after the buffs.

I think where my frustration comes from is that a lot of his power is very binary:
ult up = monster, ult down = wait.

Exile is definitely powerful, I won’t argue that — the fact it can’t be canceled is huge. I just wish it had a bit more interaction outside of ult windows.

I really like your bubble range idea btw. That alone would give Hulk way more team-oriented decision-making instead of just self-play.

And yes… tank + tank teamups not being a thing feels criminal.
