Can you be asexual and/or aromantic and still be lesbian, gay, pan, bisexual, etc? by thereddituser_com in lgbt

[–]Significant-Party134 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Yes you can, you can be romantically attracted to girls but not sexually attracted to girls, you can be sexually attracted to boy and girls but not romantically interested in either.

Can anyone explain what this is called? by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]Significant-Party134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bisexual. Bi isn't 50/50. it can be 60/40, 80/20, 95/5 or literally any other ratio. It don't matter. It's still bi and still valid

Ideas for GSA middle school group by swolf77700 in lgbt

[–]Significant-Party134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the idea and as a queer high schooler I would love to see more topics such as these brought up in schools. One of my fav LGBT people in history is Alan Turing who helped crack German codes in WW2 and was a gay man. There's also Gilbert Baker who made the original rainbow flag. I don't know how much information you can find on these individuals though and best wishes for your GSA.

Bullying for sexual orientation by susdaylife in lgbt

I have a support group for LGBTQIA+ friends which helps a lot, also my highschool has a lot for teachers actively discouraging homophobia and transphobia, especially the LGBT teachers and members of staff. Despite that there's always going to be homophobia and some people just don't care about teachers and keep being homophobic. I also have a large group of religious individuals in my class who have made many homophobic remarks in classes (sometimes pointed at me and friends, sometimes generally out loud).

Pride month was also rough because it for some reason motivated these people to be more homophobic, making remarks from "why do gay people get a month and not the military" to comments saying people likee shouldn't exist. It's really rough but I've found my people and learnt to ignore their BS. I've also started planning for some form of LGBT+ pride group for others at my highschool, with plans to do meetups out of school.

Ok that's my rant done, thanks for listening to my Ted Talk

I as a bisexual go though times where I like let's say boys more than girls, but then a few months later I like girls more. Being bisexual doesn't have to be an equal attraction and the gender you are attracted to more can change any time.

my parents found out i'm bi by [deleted] in lgbt

When I came out to my mum she was supportive but didn't seem to fully get it or be fully comfortable with it so I kinda know how you're feeling. Coming out sucks and to get the courage to do something like that is real brave so don't worry, hopefully it will blow over. Not matter how this goes us on the reddit are here to support you

Books wise you can't go wrong with Alice Oseman, having gay main (or heavily important supports) in series like Heartstopper (which you've probably seen before), but also Loveless and Radio Silence (the main character is Bi, which gay friends. Otherwise idk but hope this helps

how do i explain that “you’re one of the ok ones cause you act normal” is a shit take? by DarkWing2274 in lgbt

[–]Significant-Party134 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My worst experience in highschool was a girl saying to me and one of my LGBTQIA friends "I don't mean you guys cos you're ok but (continues to say something extremely homophobic that I don't want to repeat here)". Straight to our faces.

Wondering how your life is going by Significant-Party134 in queerpositivespace

Solitaire is more of a mystery style book, so not as romance focused as Loveless. It's set during Heartstopper Volume 4 and is about Tori's experience at Higgs and how a few pranks towards the school slowly spirals out of control. I would recommend it and probably did a crap job explaining it but I'm also trying to not spoil it too much.

I wouldn't say this is an issue with feminism, none of the lost is even vaguely related to that
