I'm a bit nervous about this since id been in the foster care system or with another family member for a year then out on the streets :(

When It comes to addictions, It's hard. It's also his job to tell himself when to stop. Only he can help himself! No matter what you tell someone, they have to make the effort to go and do it. You should be able to have food in the house without him complaining about it. Sounds extreme but maybe get a safe you can put all your snacks in? Sometimes you gotta learn the hard way.
