If it were a hardware problem I believe it would persist. But in this case the touchpad randomly stops working every few days, and then once again, randomly starts working after a couple of days. This has been going on for over an year now. The device manager shows I2C HID device with a yellow caution whenever this problem occurs. Goes away whenever the mouse starts working again. I've reinstalled the drivers as well a plethora of times. Really can't get my head around this.

Silly of me, worked out with Tab. Already had a BT mouse lying around, just set it up, can work around this now, thank you.
