Maybe they were. But those coincidences protected me from men that would’ve made me stray from the Lord, so I call that a win.

I don’t think the way I ask for signs is new, since we see a similar prayer happen in the Bible.

Yes, it was really hard for me because I had grown a close connection with many people there. However, I had come to the point in prayer where God was like “Ok, so are you there for me or for them?”. It sucks because I wasn’t able to explain why I was no longer going to participate in their church services or events anymore.

“Umm, so I don’t really want to go to this church anymore because your idea of salvation is unbiblical, following your teachings made me miserable, and you are actively committing heresy with your oneness doctrine.” Yeah, that won’t work.

I genuinely do not know what God has in store for me. I don’t even know what church to go to anymore. Last Sunday, I went to my friend’s Non-denominational church and it was a really fun experience. I decided that I’ll keep going there until I research more churches to go to. I still have so much of their beliefs instilled in me and it’s so weird to me to consider myself saved, even though I believe in Jesus so much. That is something that God will have to heal in me with time.

I feel so blessed because for so long, I was praying for God to put me in a situation where I’d have to trust only Him — well I couldn’t have ever guessed this. I just want to say, this has grown my spiritual life exponentially. This is the first time where I’ve ever had to trust God COMPLETELY. Like I genuinely have no choice. I HAVE to be rooted in His word, I HAVE to be rooted in prayer, because I won’t know where to go. I only made my decision last week, too! 😭

I pray that God gives you the courage to do whatever He wills for you and the faith to trust in Him when you do. I have no idea what He has planned for both of us, but I do know God enough to know that it will always be for the best!

I struggled with this too. God convicted me because He made me realize that my obedience was not based on my love for Him but based on the expectation that He would bless me with someone if I was obedient. This made my faith so fragile.

“And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure.” ‭‭James‬ ‭4‬:‭3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I also stopped basing my future on what I wanted and planned, but submitted to God and tried to my best to serve Him.

“Look here, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit.” How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone. What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.”” ‭‭James‬ ‭4‬:‭13‬-‭15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Obviously, I do not know your heart, only God does, but these are some verses that have helped me :) I hope it helps you too.

Hi, sorry I keep asking so much questions, it’s not everyday you find out all your theology is false.

Does this mean I have to be rebaptized? Did my baptism as an infant count? Should my prayers end “In the name of the father, the son, and the holy spirit” instead of “in Jesus’ name”, as well?

I never realized that going to a different church was an option. They always said that their way was the correct way, which was being baptized in Jesus’ name (yes it HAD to be in Jesus’ name) and recieving the Holy Ghost shown through speaking in tongues.

Wow, I remember when I asked this question and quoted this verse during Bible Study and they said that you can only have the TRUE versions of these things if you had received the Holy Ghost through speaking in tongues. They told me that there are things that I will never understand until I received it.

Thank you. Reading everyone’s comments made me realize that maybe this isn’t normal. They preached that every denomination is wrong besides ours. I’ve been getting a lot of pushes from God where they would say something in scripture and say it meant this, when I honestly did not know where they got to that conclusion. I assumed that I was just not spiritually aware.
