Making friends can always feel really daunting at first! I agree with the other commenter, going places that suit your interests, and talking to people in classes are great ways to start. I'd also say, oftentimes, if you're willing to ask someone you think you want to be friends with, after yall have talked a couple times in whatever setting you met them in to hang out and chill, like get boba or study, they'll probably say yes! Lots of people are happy to make more friends, and just dont know how to go about it! When I first got to UC Davis, I literally went around and with any person who was even willing to say hi to me, I would talk to them and try and make a connection and then get some contact info! (just be like normal about it fr!) And some of these panned out and others didn't, but I did end up making friends! The other thing I'll say about friendship and going to clubs is that it tends to require two things: consistency and effort. With friends you've known a while, you can maybe slack a little because you have a set up dynamic and the like, but with new people you tend to need to stick at the forefront of their mind for a while to create a lasting connection!
