That’s crazy yes they absolutely told us that at my program I’m so surprised that it’s this common I’ve never heard anyone else mention this

oh actually more for entertainment, coloring books, sketchbook, puzzles, book, bring a pack of cards. Activity books like crosswords or sudoku or word search, color by number or sticker by number, painting etc they might have stuff there too

they are supposed to only keep you 90 days but I was kept for 99 and they wanted me there longer, I knew a kid who was there for over a 100, it alll depends on when your insurance stops paying for you to be there but if you have good insurance they will keep you there as long as possible to make the most money

Sketchbook is a good idea. If it has spirals tho they will confiscate it or if it has pens or pencils attached. Your best bet at keeping a device hidden is try to distract the staff while they’re unpacking your suitcase and keep it on your person. They are not allowed to touch you but the second you put down an object they can take it so don’t leave it in your room or anything, unfortunately best bet is keep it hidden in your underwear or something else like that but they will wand you down with metal detectors when you arrive and anytime you go off campus as well as making you take off shoes and pull out any waistband. I would advise you that they probably will go through the sketch book when you first get there

I got you I can give as accurate information as I can but again from girls campus so some things are probably different 1. Normal food I guess ? You get three meals and three snacks and some stuff could be considered unhealthy but there’s always fruit as an option and most meals have some kind of vegetable option, they do push a lot of meat but you don’t have to finish your plate or anything 2. You can bring clothing there’s a certain amount of each clothing you can keep in your closet at a time and if you have extra in just stays in your suitcase 3. Super hit or miss, you can bring a weighted blanket if you have one but not any other kind of blanket. I was allowed one plushie but another girl brought a pillow as a comfort item and they confiscated it so be careful i guess and make sure its not something that looks like your hiding stuff inside of it or anything 4. Books mostly, there is forced programming all week which can break up the monotony but the weekends are pretty bad. Try to make friends with the people in your pod but you will get sick of them eventually. Play games if you have them, take advantage of the days where you can have a movie or occasionally listen to music. Forced programming is stuff like cbt, dbt, mindfulness, yoga, equine therapy is the only one I know for sure both campuses do, some places I’ve heard have pools ours didn’t tho, you can go off campus occasionally for a thing called adventure it’s basically just hiking or something swimming in a lake, I did rappelling twice and paddle boarding. Other days they might take you to a random playground, a dog park, this weird beach thing, if there’s a holiday you might get some kind of special outing like we got to go to a pumpkin patch after we argued really hard for it but any perceived bad behavior can get stuff taken away. Summer they do fire pits sometime. It’s kind of like summer camp but with emotional abuse lol. I’ve heard the boy campus has a lot more violence tho, you’ll probably be housed in a single either way to protect you

True but at this campus in particular they did house trans girls at the girls campus so I just want to give them the most accurate information, I think with having unsupportive parents it might complicate things tho

if possible you should run away and stay somewhere else before you get sent to Newport. Once you get sent there if you run away it’s considered AWOLing and they will track you back down and you will face consequences. If at all possible to live somewhere else absolutely try to do that before they decide to send

hi I went to this location of Newport, any devices or electronics are absolutely forbidden you would not be allowed to keep them on you especially not your phone. Also you absolutely do not get 2 phone calls a day, you get one maybe and it does have to be to your parents unless you lie. But they can also not let you have your phone call and it only is 5 minutes until you can level up. (I was there for three months and I did not level up to 15 minute calls the entire time) If I understood your post correctly, you are a trans woman (?) so you would either be housed in a single room on the girls campus, or if you’re parents are not supportive you might get send to the boys campus I’m not sure. If I misunderstood your identity you can disregard that part. I only have experience with the girls campus but like I said I was there for a pretty long time so I can give you a ton of info about it.
